Good morning again,
Told you I've been busy - I've had a go at the colour challenge over at CR84FN, together with sketch 57 at Cardabilities:
In a house full of testosterone I need any excuse I can get to use some pink. Can you believe I've had those Technique Tuesday flourish stamps sat in my stash for 2 years and never used them? Every time I've got them out they just haven't worked with the card I'm making but I'm really happy with how they look on this.
Hope you have a fabulous day,
Claire x

Waltzingmouse Challenge #103
And yet again I say hello!
I seem to be getting a lot of challenges done this week - I'd like to say the same about the ironing, cleaning and washing but we all have to get our priorities right eh?
I loved the sketch for this week's Waltzingmouse challenge:
The pink paper on the base is actually fabric paper with a sticky backing from American Crafts - I just frayed the edges slightly and inked them. I love the added texture it's given to the card and I'm sure there's heaps that could be done with it. The stamps are from the Fancy Phrases set and Musical backgrounds.
I'll be back again tomorrow with the CR84FN challenge....
Thanks for stopping by. Again.

On the Move
Hello again Scrappers,
I've been having a play with the Kaisercraft 'On the Move' collection for the June #1 Saturday Sketch challenge. You can find details of the sketch here.
I knew I had the perfect photo for these papers - one very proud bloke of mine on his motorbike, pre-children (when life was that little bit more exciting!) It was an amazing bike, even I have to admit that. About 18 months after this photo was taken he was wiped off it by someone going through a red light on one of Sydney's busiest roads. It happened to be Friday 13th and one witness said it would be the luckiest Friday 13th he'd ever have - he walked away with a bruised ankle. The bike didn't fare as well, though, and had to be written off. However, I think we can both appreciate how unbelievably lucky he was that day.
I covered the letters with tin foil and mod podge and then inked them with some black ink. The chippie gear has been coloured with a silver pen and I added some dimensional magic to the words.
He still hasn't got another road bike but he's definitely still a revhead - it's not quite the same effect though in the sensible, family car!
Thanks for stopping by,
Claire

A Splash of Blue
Good morning scrappers,
It's another of my favourite challenges at the Play Date Cafe this week - black, white with a splash of colour. The splash this time is blue:
I masked a Bo Bunny stamp over the back ground, cut it into strips and matted it on to the cardstock. Very simple but I'm really happy with how it's turned out.

Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge
Hello fellow hoppers,
It's soooo long since I used my lovely Papertrey Ink stamps - they really have been neglected in the past few months which is a shame as I have a few different sets. What better way to get using them again than by taking part in their monthly blog hop. This months inspiration is based on florals, ruffles and pleats:
I think these colours are gorgeous together - so Summery and fresh. I chose to sew a ruffled ribbon and make a matching ribbon flower. The background has been stamped using a couple of little stamps from the Butterfly Kisses set and I used a sentiment from the same set:
I also embossed the background to give it a bit more texture. I have to say I'm not entirely happy with it - my mojo disappeared completely when I was making it so I may have another go with those colours at a later date!
Looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with. Thanks for stopping by and for any comments...they always brighten up my day!
Cheers,,

A Picture of Innocence
Hi Scrappers,
Thought I'd share my latest Scrapburst for you today - take a peek here to find out all the details and how you have the chance to win some goodies. This time I've done Scrapburst #4 - to use the word 'eyes' on a layout:
This is my oldest son's first day of Kindy earlier this year. They start off so innocent don't they? And then all that hard work you put in during the first 5 years goes completely down the drain within the first 3 weeks! I'm amazed at the attitude he's picked up after 4 months - where did my beautiful, innocent little boy go?!
Hope you're having a great week and thanks for stopping by,

Another Waltzing Blog Hop
Good morning Scrappers,
It's the 17th of the month again and time for another blog hop at Waltzingmouse. This month there's a picture for inspiration:
I love turquoise and orange together so I've decided to use the colour scheme as my inspiration as well as the panelled walls and clean, geometric lines of the room:
I stamped the background with the Very Vintage Labels set and added the sentiment from the Fancy Phrases set. Note to self: I really do have to put an order in for some more stamps!

Waiting for Baby....
Hi Scrappers,
Another sketch challenge at Waltzingmouse this week - I decided to do a new baby boy card since a friend of mine is due to pop any second. I wanted to get away from the usual baby blues and pastel colours:
I used my trusty Studio Calico mask again with some Glimmer Mist , embossed the red Echo Park paper and used my Fancy Phrases and Very Vintage Labels sets for the stamping. The journal spot is MME - I thought when the baby is born I could write his name, weight, length and birth date on it so the card can be kept as a keepsake.
Not much scrapping going on at the moment, although I had a lovely box of Kaisercraft goodies arrive yesterday as I was lucky enough to win last months Saturday sketch. (Thank you Kaisercraft!) Don't you just love when those 12 x 12 boxes of scrappy stuff arrive?
Have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by,

Waltzingmouse Sketch 100
Hi Scrappers,
It's Waltzingmouse's 100th sketch challenge so there are extra prizes on offer this week, depending on how many enter the challenge - you have to love that! I've gone for a bit of a shabby look again with some of those lovely Bo Bunny papers from my Scrapville pack. You can find the sketch here:
Instead of using paper for my borders, I used a wooden scroll from Kaisercraft. I've inked the blossom to age it a bit and put some dimensional magic on for some drops of dew. I've also added some skeleton leaves, which I've coloured with glimmer mist. The stamps are from the Very Vintage Labels No 4 set and Fancy Phrases.
Can't wait to see what everyone else has come up with this week!

A Change of Style
Hi Scrappers,
This months pack at Scrapville is very different to the usual style of papers I use, so I've really enjoyed using some techniques that don't normally go with my clean and simple 'style.' The papers are from Bo Bunny's new range 'Little Miss', so I had a great excuse to scrapbook a girl for a change.

I also made a card from the pack. Ok, so I know they're not exactly heavily 'distressed' but, believe me, it took quite a bit of effort to get those worn edges. I still couldn't bring myself to tear that paper though - maybe with the next layout!

A Krafty Scrapburst
Hi Scrappers,
It's Scrapburst time over at Scrapville so here's my first 'burst' of the month. The challenge? Make a layout using Kraft based cardstock, plus two other colours. What better colours to use than red and blue, since I'm feeling ever so patriotic during the diamond jubilee celebrations in Old Blighty. Ok, so I'm missing the white, but you get the gist of it.
Now you'd think this would be a pretty simple colour combo, but since reds can clash so easily, I struggled to come up with something for a while. I used a Studio Calico mask, did some stamping with Versamark, stencilled and painted a title and added some Nestie die cuts.
If you're interested in having a go and winning some goodies, pop over here for more information about the challenges. We'd love to see what you come up with!
