Circular Motions

 Good morning!

How's your weekend going? Super quick card to show you using the colours from Colour Throwdown and the cue word over at Casology - Circles:

So many directions you can go with circles aren't there?  I went with a Memory Box stencil, sponged it in yellow and pear green and added a shadowed die cut sentiment from MFT.  A scattering of enamel dots and it was done. Like I said, quick card!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello again!

Second post for today.  I've had a little bit of 'me ' time over the last three days so managed to get a few cards done. It's school holidays over here and the big bloke took the kids camping whilst I was working.   Unfortunately it was windy and raining most of the time so my youngest has come back coughing and spluttering like an old man. He also came back with a couple of ticks!

Moving on, it seems to be the day for blog hops so here's my entry to The Coffee Bloggers Blog Hop:

I used this pretty sketch by Rita at Freshly Made Sketches for some inspiration, together with Waltzingmouse Coffee Set....perfect for coffee lovers!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

PTI September Blog Hop

Hello!

Time for the September PTI Blog Hop. Any excuse to get these Doodlie-Do blooms out again:

I used Spectrum Noir markers to colour and a gold ink pen to add a few shiny bits.

Thanks for stopping!

Colour Q #309

G'day folks!

Can it really be Tuesday again? I thought it was Tuesday only yesterday. We've got another set of fun colours for you to play with at Colour Q based on this gorgeous quilt cover from Macy's:

I have to admit I did make a little error with my colours this week. I reached for my Gray Flannel Memento Ink and picked up the black by mistake. Don't you just hate it when that happens? So my Waltzingmouse Funky Feather is meant to be in gray, rather than black but you get the idea! The distressed ink background is a combination of More Mustard and Fired Brick with a little flick of water across the top of it.

This will be my last card for Colour Q (although I may beg Arielle to have me back!) Having a few weeks away made me realise how busy life is at the moment.  I've taken on some more work and decided to cut back a little on other commitments.  What a lovely, talented group of ladies I've had to work with over the past couple of years...make sure you give them some love when you take a look at their creations won't you?

Upsy Daisy

Hello! Happy weekend to you!

Another day, another card for three of my favourite challenge sites - Freshly Made Sketches,  The Card Concept and Time Out:

Can't resist a daisy themed challenge as it allows me to use my MFT Upsy Daisy die.  I was influenced by the colours in the Card Concept inspiration pic and created a clean and layered creation using the sketch.  I wasn't sure what colour to do the leaves as I didn't want them to clash with the aqua. And then I saw Time Out's CASE Tracey challenge and I realised I should use vellum. Thanks for reminding me I have something other than patterned paper in my stash Tracey (and for inspiring us with your beautiful card!)

Colour Q #308

G'day again folks!

Did you manage to join in with last week's Colour Q challenge? If not, there's always this week as it's time for another set of colours:

I thought a nautical and masculine theme would suit these cool, blue hues so I reached for the anchors in Waltzingmouse's Ocean Bound.  For the background I stamped the mini pinstripe backgrounder and used the same stamp to add a little detail to the corners of the central panel. I love how these stripes have a slightly shabby, faded look - kind of like my husband (but don't tell him I said that!)

So now it's your turn. Get your fingers inky and link up your creations by midnight, CST on September 21 to be in with a chance to wear the Colour Q crown!

Thanks for calling by,

Moonlit Leaves?

Hello, hello,

Hope you are having a great Sunday! Super quick CAS card to show you for this week's CASology challenge and the new Addicted to CAS challenge:

I masked a moon and sponged a background with a combination of distress inks and SU inks. Am I pushing it a bit thinking I can get away with 'leaves?' I'm not sure if you would class this plant as having reeds or leaves?!  Anyway, ATCAS team, feel free to delete away if it doesn't fit in with the theme!

Thanks for stopping!

More Doodling

Morning bloggers!

I'm still playing around with PTI's Doodlie do set but thought I'd use a few blue hues to fit in with the code word over at Addicted to CAS.  It's a colour I don't seem to use very often on my cards..perhaps I have more of a yearning for pink, since I'm surrounded by boys:

I even had a go at using a stencil which is a bit of a rarity. Since I haven't used this one before, or the PTI flower and leaves,  I 'm going to link up to Darnell's 5th NBUS challenge as well as Time Out's marker challenge. There's some absolutely beautiful cards made by the DT there this week so make sure you send them some love!

Have a great weekend!

Colour Q #307

Hello folks!

It's Tuesday so time for a new palette of colours over at Colour Q

It was Father's Day on Sunday so I made a quick card for the big bloke. I really had to search deep into the depths of my stash for the colours.   It's the first card I made after a four week break...can you tell? My mojo was flying somewhere between England and Australia I think.

The super talented Darnell is having one of her NBUS challenges so I'm going to plonk it over there as I haven't used the WMS sentiment stamp before. Have you seen the prizes she has on offer? I'm wondering if she's been resorting to a little bribery, there's so much on offer....

Ok, that's all from me - make sure you check out the rest of the DT's stuff won't you? Whilst I've been away a couple of new ladies have joined the team and they are so talented, Joyce and Michelle.

Thanks for stopping,

Making a Mark

Hello!

I've been lusting after PTI's Doodlie-do set for ages now and it's arrival was timed perfectly with Time Out's latest challenge - to use markers on your project:

This set reminds me of the adult colouring books you can buy at every second book store. I love how these books have been marketed as a kind of adult stress reliever - I've been saying for years that colouring is relaxing. It's obviously taken a while for publishers to realise this!

I had a play with Freshly Made Sketch #202 and used a variety of Copics and Spectrum Noir Markers with a little Kindy Glitz on the centre of the bloom and leaves. I added a strip of scalloped card stock to the top of the panel (which seemed to take longer than the colouring as it was difficult to find something that didn't detract from the main image.)

Well. that's enough card blurb from me for this post, hope you have a fabulous week!

CAS-ual Fridays - Challenge #143

Hello folks!

It's been a long time between posts!  I've just returned from a hectic trip overseas, catching up with family and friends in Germany and the UK.  I left the kids at home (along with hubby) and had three weeks of darting up and down the country seeing various godchildren, close friends, cousins and my beautiful new niece.  How lucky am I?

After succumbing to horrendous jet lag, I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things and first up is the brand new challenge for the CAS-ual Fridays Clean and Simple challenge.  This month we have a musical theme:

I had a play with CAS-ual Fridays Heart Beats for this one, together with the matching Double Note Fri-die. I die cut the note three times from black and cream card stock, then used a gold leaf pen and Copics to colour. I added a heap of Glossy Accents to the hearts and a sliver of glitter for some sparkle.  It looked a little to minimalist so I added a couple of thin strips of card stock underneath the sentiment for some detail.

So get your musical mojo out and create a clean and simple card with a musical theme to be in the running for a prize. If you prefer a few more layers, you can create something for the CAS-ual Fridays CAS-ual Chic challenge which you can find here.

Thanks for popping by!
