Casology #241

Hi bloggers!

Just managed to make a quick card for Casology where the cue word is 'melt:'

I stamped a rainbow of candles from Whimsy Stamps, a simple sentiment from Waltzingmouse and added a touch of sparkle to the flames.

Happy stamping!

March Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hello folks,

It's PTI Blog Hop time and there's a really pretty collection of pics from Victoria Johnson Design to draw inspiration from.  I used similar colours with my all time favourite PTI set Doodlie-do:

After stamping a whole heap of images I made a couple of different cards. Normally I use Copics to colour in the blooms but this time I used a variety of inks and left the blooms untouched. I also used the matching dies and Pretty Frame Die coverplate and the second card's sentiment is from Autumn Abundance

Less is More have also posted a new challenge today - to use a frame so I'm popping the first card over there too!

Looking forward to having a hop around to see how everyone else has been inspired, thanks for calling by!

Washi Woes

Morning all,

Less is More has a Washi tape theme this week. I have a love/hate relationship with washi tape - all those rolls hanging up at the shops look so pretty and cry out for me to buy them. But then I get home and there they sit gathering dust until a challenge like this one comes along:

I layered the washi on some strips of card and die cut them using the dies from PTI's Lovely Layers. The sentiment is from the matching stamp set.  It looked a bit bare so I stencilled a background with some gesso to add a bit of texture.

I'm also entering this into the AAA Card Challenge where the theme is die cuts.

Hope you get the time to join in with a few challenges this weekend! Thanks for stopping,

Freshly made Sketch #279

Hello, hello,

It's been a while since I made a masculine card - I thought this week's Freshly Made Sketch would really suit a masculine image:

The back kraft panel is stamped using Waltzingmouse's Woodgrain background in a similar colour - it gives a bit of texture without overpowering the card. I used some MME patterned papers for the other layers and added a PTI Centre Style masculine frame - the golf trolley is by Stamp in Style and is coloured in with Copics so I'm also popping this card over to the 30 Day Colouring Challenge.  I adjusted the flags slightly and sat them in front of the second panel instead of behind...there wouldn't have been enough colour otherwise from those papers.

Hope you have a great weekend and get some inky time!

Casology - Leafy Foliage

G'day bloggers,

Leaves seem to be featuring on my cards a lot this week - Casology's latest cue word is 'foliage:'

I used a Cheery Lynn leafy flourish die cut in dark green and then layered an identical white one over the top. You can't get much simpler than that!

Thanks for popping by!

Leafy One Layer

Hello bloggers,

Another quick card for Less is More and The Card Concept:

It's the dreaded one layer card over at Less is More - the theme for this week's challenge is 'leaves.' I always struggle with a one layer card - they really should be the easiest cards to make but I think the fact I can't cover up any mistakes with a few layers makes me nervous.

I used Waltzingmouse's Simple Sprig for my clean and simple card with a sentiment from Big Day Today.

Hope you have a great week!

Hennah Blooms

Hey bloggers!

Here's a card using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches which I've combined with this month's Altenew challenge and the 30 Day Colour Challenge:

I'm also popping it into the latest Time Out challenge - they're celebrating their 3rd birthday and this week they have a theme:

Love and/or Friendship with the optional twist of 'spotlight stamping' where you add colour only to one raised area of your image

I used Altenew's Hennah Elements but the sentiment's from Waltzingmouse!

Thanks for popping by!

Blooming Sunflower

Hello,

Time for a new card and a trifector of challenges.  It's been such a wet and dreary week in Sydney so an MFT sunflower was just what I needed to brighten my day:

I'm entering this one into 3 challenges: Addicted to CAS (code word - wood), Less is More and the 30 Day Colouring Challenge. Usually I cut the sunflower out of patterned paper but this time I coloured it with Copics.  The dotted stamp is from Waltingmouse's My Kind of Guy and the sentiment is PTI. Do check out the stunning Tiger Lilies that Kathy has coloured on her blog - she makes my colouring efforts look about as good as a 5 year old's!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!
