CASology - 5 Year Anniversary Balloon Blog Hop

Hi folks,

So glad I've had the time to play along at CASology this week - it's their 5th birthday and there's a special anniversary blog hop. The cue word is 'balloon:'

I've used the large balloon and a selection of sentiments from Whimsy Stamp's Happy Everything. It took some very precise stamping (without the aid of a Misti) to get those balloons lined up! I'm popping it over to their monthly challenge which is Anything Goes with the option of holiday.  I'm also entering into the AAA cards challenge where the theme is 'rainbow.'

Happy inking!

Papertrey Ink - July Blog Hop

Hello, hello,

It's Blog Hop time again at Papertrey Ink and this month's pic is full of soft greys and blues to draw inspiration from, as well as some gold embossing:

There's a touch of soft pink on the flowers too but I've used a much brighter hue so that the dots from Grunge Me would show up against the circles. The teeny tiny stars are from Stylish Sentiments Birthday.  I really didn't have a plan for this card as the boys were watching the final of Australian Ninja Warrior and I got totally caught up in shouting and cheering at the TV - you can probably tell! Luckily Grunge Me is a great set for some random stamping!

Thanks for popping by,

Your Next Stamp - Sketch Challenge

G'day folks!

Your Next Stamp has a new sketch and colour challenge:

I stamped these cute cows from Funny Farm Crew and added some (very old)  patterned papers and a sprinkling of YNS Gum Drops.  On the inside is another sentiment from the same set - 'party til' the cows come home.'

Thanks for popping by!

You had Me At Hello - Fusion Guest Designer

Good evening,

It's time for a new challenge over at Fusion and the inspiration pic this week features some pretty neutrals teamed with gold, embossed sentiments. I chose to go with the colours but you can play along using the sketch or the colours or even combine them both:

I used a few different PTI sets for my card - Lovely Layers and Center Style Masculine.  I used the matching Lovely Layers die to cut the petals and stamped and embossed some of the detail in gold, then added a sentiment from Autumn Abundance. I'm really happy with how this one turned out!

So now it's your turn. Link your card up to the challenge and play along...and don't forget to call by the talented DT to send them some love!

Thanks for calling by,

Claire

Morning all,

Here's another card for the latest My Favorite Things sketch challenge:

I've used a selection of sweet little critters from Polynesian Paradise. The film strip has been cut using my Silhouette and the dp is from My Minds Eye.

That's all folks!

One Layer Coloured Cardbase

Hello, hello,

I made a very quick card for AAA and Less is More's combined challenge to create a one layer card on a coloured card base:

This was a bit of an experiment with Perfect Pearls - I mixed the powders with water and used them like a paint on a gold embossed Doodlie Do bloom from PTI. The sentiment's from Waltzingmouse.

Quick post for a quick card!

Thanks for stopping,

Claire x

Just editing this post as it's been pointed out by a couple of members in the LIM DT that it can't be counted as a one layer due to the panel. I thought I might get away with it rules is rules as they say...

Paper Smooches - Anything Goes!

Hello folks,

It's been such a busy couple of weeks - with family over from the UK,  a trip to the Blue Mountains school holidays and work, there's been very little time make cards.
I thought I'd try and get my mojo going again by taking part in July's Paper Smooches challenge which is Anything Goes:

I stamped a panel of Curls and Swirls and the sentiment is from Sentiment Sampler. I used quite a few different colours which made the panel look a little too busy so I cut out a centre panel, matted it on black cardstock and covered the remainder with vellum to soften it.  I also added a few crystals to add a little shine.

Not sure if my mojo's returned but it's a start!

Have a great weekend!

Fusion Guest Designer

Hello folks!

I  was chuffed to bits to be asked by Karren to be a guest designer for a couple of months over at Fusion card challenge. Some of the DT will be taking a break over their Summer and as it's cold and miserable here in the Southern Hemisphere, it's the perfect time for a couple of us Aussies to be taking over (or honorary Aussie in my case.)

This week's challenge has a beach theme picture for inspiration. You can either use the sketch to whet your inky appetite or just be inspired by the pic. You can even combine them both as I've done in the card below:

My background is a piece of Kaisercraft dp which happened to fit in perfectly with the background on the inspiration pic. I've coloured some Altenew Hennah Elements blooms with Copics and added a touch of turquoise twine.

You have two weeks to submit your project for the chance to become a Zen Master!

Thanks for popping by,
