Folk Art Flowers

Still no computer so another very average photo for this little card I made using the sketch  from Freshly made sketches and colours inspired by the photo over at Fusion:

It's been a while since I used Waltzingmouse's Folk Art Medallion but I thought it would be a perfect fit for the sketch.

Ocean Helloooo

G'day folks,

I've been playing around with this week's cue card over at CASology which is 'ocean': 

Not the best photo - our computer has completely and utterly died so this one's been done on the I-pad. I used a sweet little seahorse stamp from Your Next Stamp's Totally Narly. Did you know that sea horses change colour? This one has completely camouflaged himself against the blended ocean background!

It's taken about an hour to work out how to write this post on the I-pad and for some reason I can't get the  AAA Cards challenge photo up but I'm linking up over there for a second time as their challenge is to use only one image.

Just off to throw this I-pad out the window....

Having a Ball!

AAA Card's latest challenge is to use just one image, with the optional twist of Spring. I've used  Color Thowdown's colour palette but I have taken a little artistic licence and used a very, very faint blue to do the glass:

The image used is Lawn Fawn's Sweet Smiles!

Souper FMS

Hello,

I'm on a roll this week with the card making - makes a nice change! I really liked Judy's layered sketch for this week's Freshly Made Sketches so I've made a second card using the same layout:

This time I used the colours over at My Favorite Things to colour in one of the chefs from Recipe for Happiness. The background is stamped using Versamark with Marble Background and the banners are from Blueprints 27.

Freshly Made Colour Throwdown

Hello again,

Second post for the day - this time for Freshly Made Sketches, using the colours from Color Throwdown and the inspiration words from Time Out who are celebrating their 5th birthday:

I have to admit, they're not the usual colours I'd gravitate to - I tend to go for pinks and oranges but after embossing the butterfly in copper embossing powder, I thought I throw in the blue and yellow and I really like how it's come together. 

The butterfly is a die from Stamplorations and the white embossing is MFT, together with the sentiment.

Addicted to CAS - Guest Designer

Morning folks,

I'm thrilled to be guest designing over at Addicted to CAS this week where there's a brand challenge  to whet your inky appetites. The code word is 'green:'

I turned to one of my old favourites which has probably seen more ink than all my stamps put together  - Waltzingmouse's Simple Sprig. It looked a little bare floating in all that white space on its own so I also added a couple of pretty, scallop edges using an MFT die.

This one's also being linked to Less is More as they have a new 'take 3' challenge - I've put three buds on my sprig.

Casology - Guest Designer

Hello folks!

I'm so thrilled to be Guest Designer over at Casology this week and as always they've come up with an interesting cue card to get your creative juices going - 'funky:'

I have to be honest, I was a little flummoxed - it made me think of 70's funk music and colours and I found the above image on Pinterest which gave me a kick start. Then I remembered I have Waltzingmouse's very appropriate 'Funky Feathers' and it suddenly all came together - don't you just love it when that happens?

Freshly Made Sketch #377

I did a very quick card for Freshly Made Sketches using CAS-ual Friday's Peaceful Garden:

I found it really diffiicult incorporating a square into the cluster so added a polaroid die cut and another bloom but otherwise it fits the sketch!

This one started off as MFT's colour challenge, but then I realised I was a week behind and the colours had changed. Luckily this week's sketch fitted perfectly with this sweet little girl from Warmest Wishes:
