MFT Colour Challenge #118

Hi folks,

Still playing with brand new stuff - I picked up this gorgeous Heart Tree die from MFT at my local craft store which closed down recently (you can probably hear my sobs from where you are:)

It took me ages to put all those little leaves back in the die and probably wasn't helped by the glass of wine I was consuming at the time! I've used this week's colours but added in some neutral brown for the Wood Plank background. I also added a couple of Single Stitch Rectangle Frames and part of a sentiment from Birthday Chicks.

Happy stamping!

Freshly Made Sketches #389

Hello folks,

The Copics have been out again, this time for Freshly Made Sketch #389:

I haven't inked up PTI's Doodlie Do in a while. For some reason I always seem to reach for the pinks and oranges with flowers so thought I'd go for blues and greens for a change.. It was a little sparse with just the one big bloom so I added a second but kept it uncoloured. The background is Gesso with a honeycomb stencil and I've added a sentiment from Altenew.

Thanks for calling by!

MFT Sketch #438

Hello fellow inkers,

Happy Mail from MFT arrived this week - lots of new things to play with including one from the newest release - Bring Out the Sunshine :

I've used this week's sketch which I've had to flip it to make it work with the image. For the panels I used the Sweet Celebration Paper pack which I cut using Stitched Scallop Basic Edges. The sentiment from the set was a little large to use with the sketch so I've used one from Essential Sentiments.

Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Fun with Your Next Stamp

Hi bloggers,

Your Next Stamp has a 'School's out for Summer' theme happening for their Fun Friday Challenge.  We may be on the cusp of Winter here in Sydney but the Summer just seems to keep on giving at the moment - blue skies, 7 degrees above average and no humidity...it's just perfect!  With Summer still on my mind I decided to use Honey Bee:

I struggle a bit making scenes as I prefer lots of white space instead of filling up the entire card front.  The sketch over at CAS(E) This Sketch was just right for what I had in mind.

Happy stamping!

AAA and CASology Take 3!

Hello again,

It's a rare day that I manage to enter a challenge twice, let alone three times,  but something about the CASology and AAA challenges must have whetted my creative appetite!

This is what I originally had in mind for both challenges - a simple strip of PTI's Watercolor Wonder stamped at the base of the card with a big, bold sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays. I stamped the sentiment in black but thought it need a bit of a boost so added a second white embossed layer with a touch of clear glitter to create a shadowed sentiment.  I reckon this design would work well as a really simple Christmas card - just with Christmas colours and sentiment!

Challenges Galore

G'day folks!

I've actually had a couple of hours to sit down and stamp this week so I've had a play with MFT's new sketch:

I used my favourite Wood Plank Background and some of the critters from Polynesian Paradise to whip this one up. I put a big order in to MFT this week - I was so looking forward to spending the weekend using all my new goodies but Fedex arrived when I was working  so now I won't get them till Monday. So disappointed!

The next card is a clean and simple one for four different challenges - CASology's cue card is 'color' which fitted in perfectly with the inspiration pic over at The Card Concept.  I love the colour combo of those bright Mosaics which reminded me of Waltzingmouse's Folk Art Medallion. I used the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch and I'm popping it over to AAA Cards as I reckon that die cut is taking up about a third of the card.  It was such a quick card I decided to stamp a second one in a different colour!

Hope you have the time to get a bit inky over the weekend!

Happy stamping,

A Splash of Colour

Hi folks,

It's one of those rare days where I've managed to combine 3 challenges for the one card:

CAS(E) This Sketch fitted in perfectly with AAA's one third challenge and a splash of bright colour for CASology completed the trifecta. I stamped PTI's Watercolor Wonder which I was going to use as a border on the edge of the card. It looked a little boring though, so I added these cute crayons from Lawn Fawn. Funnily enough, they fitted perfectly over the colour - don't you just love it when stuff like that happens?

Happy stamping!

Freshly Made Sketch #387

Hello, hello,

Here's a very CAS card for this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

It's such a simple sketch but I really struggled with it, especially with the sprig of leaves draping over the panels. Nothing seemed to work so in the end I opted for some vellum which has given it a much softer look. All the products used are by MFT.

Happy stamping!

MFT Sketch Challenge #436

Hello folks, happy weekend!

There's been an abundance of CAS cards with lots of white space on this blog lately so for MFT's latest sketch challenge I pulled out some patterned paper for a change:

I coloured this sweet MFT Viking  and used a couple of Fishtail dienamics for the flags. Don't you just love that masculine Kaisercraft paper?

Happy stamping!

FMS #386

Hello fellow inkers!

Not many cards being made lately. I've been practising my watercoloring skills which are pretty average to say the least:

I white embossed Clearly Besotted's Beautiful Friend and stamped a Wood Plank Background from MFT. The scallop edge is also MFT - Stitched Scallop Basic Edge die. I knew it would fit perfectly with the latest sketch from Freshly Made Sketches so it all came together very quickly!

Have a fabulous weekend!
