MFT Sketch and Colour Challenges

Hello folks,

Here's a CAS card for the latest MFT sketch and colour challenges:

I'm still trying to get to grips with colouring with pencils instead of Copics.  This is my first attempt at colouring a person, stamped using Sweet Christmas Wishes. The background panels have been stamped with the recently re-released Wood Plank and the sentiment is from Bitty Holiday Wishes.

I find it quite difficult blending the colours using the pencils and found a little Gamsol really made a difference. It's not quite as relaxing as using inks...I had to press a lot harder to lay down the colour but I like the look of it as a change. Lots more practise required though!

Happy stamping!

Time Out - Photo Inspiration

Hello inkers,

School holidays are upon us and so is another Covid outbreak - can't really complain but it always seems to kick off as soon as it's the holidays!

Anyway, here's a card using inspiration from the latest pic over at Time Out:

\

I've been inspired by those big, colourful stripes - they immediately made me think of PTI's Watercolour Wonder so I stamped the same colours and used them as a border at the base of my very CAS card. I liked the bold look of the flooring in the photo so I put it all against a black background instead of my usual white. A sprinkle of matching enamel dots and it was done.

Happy stamping!

MFT Colour Challenge #167 - Take Two

Hello, hello,

Here's another card using the colours from MFT - they're the perfect hues for masculine cards which I never make enough of:

I just can't get enough of these old folks - this lovely gentleman is from Old Friends but he really needed a party hat from his old buddies over at Festive Old Friends to celebrate his birthday! I popped it all into a a trio of die cut Polaroid Shaker Frames cut out of very dp from MFT and a stencilled Brick Wall background. Nice and simple - just the way I like it!

Happy stamping!

Weekend Tri-fector

Hi folks,

It's been a productive weekend for a change and I've managed to get three cards done for a variety of challenges. Amazing what you can do when it's a long weekend and one kid's sick and having to self-isolate whilst waiting for Covid results. (Negative thankfully.)

The first is for Altenew's June Inspiration challenge:

I wasn't sure about these colours together but I really like how it's turned out - I watercolored some Floral Motifs  and arranged them in a die cut window, bordered by some Gold Foil Washi Tape.  The sentiment's from Beautiful Day.

My second card's for a couple challenges - CASology, where the cue card is 'strength' and Less is More which has a pale blue and yellow colour challenge:

There's that Stamplorations butterfly die cut again - I'm amazed it isn't blunt it's been used so much.
I stencilled a distress ink circle in Tumbled Glass, then stencilled over the top with a leaf stencil from Funky Fossil.  The sentiment's from MFT.

I used the same layout for my last card which was meant to be for MFT's sketch and colour challenge - until I realised I'd actually missed one of the elements from the sketch. I honestly think I'm coming down with dementia...I've been doing that a lot recently.  So this one is just featuring the colours from challenge #167 with one of the cute gnomes from Hanging with my Gnomies.  This little Gnomie is my absolute favourite..perfect for the MFT sentiment!

Enjoy the rest of the week and happy stamping!

Less is More - Favourite Technique

 Hello fellow inkers,

Here's a CAS card for a few challenges:

Less is More's Lucky Dip challenge is to use your favourite technique - I love the look of ink blending so I blended a distress ink background and stamped an MFT image of Lavish Lilies.

This one's also going over to Just Us Girls' Word Week challenge which is 'kindness' and Time Out's Inspired by Words challenge...what could be more spring-like than fresh flowers?

Happy stamping!

Festive Friends

Happy weekend folks,

Quick post for MFT's colour challenge.  I just had to get these Festive Friends because I love the old guy asleep on the chair. It's standing joke that my brother falls asleep every time I see him - although maybe that's more a reflection of me rather than him...

I coloured all the images with Copics so this one's going over to Addicted to Stamps and More's 'make your mark' challenge.  The strip of dp is MFT's Birthday Brights.

Happy stamping!

Hello There!

Hi folks,

Remember this set from Stamping' Up? It's not seen ink for quite some time but I thought it would be ideal for Time Out's challenge 'items from inside your home with the option of embossing:'

We all have phones in our homes but admittedly this one is a bit old fashioned!

I've used the pic over at Fusion for some colour inspiration.  I'm also linking up to The Paper Players in their Tic Tac Toe challenge, with some white heat embossing on the background panel and some pretty patterned papers which have been gathering dust in my paper stash.

Thanks for popping by!
