Paper Players Sketch Challenge

Hello again,

I made things difficult for myself with this CAS card - I liked the sentiment placement in this week's sketch challenge over at The Paper Players but really struggled to work out which stamps to use. Add a pastel colour palette from Sunday Stamps and it really had me stumped! In the end I opted for some pretty blooms from Ink to Paper:

I added some simple stencilling with embossing paste and a sentiment from Poppy Stamps, then painted the edges of the blooms with some Wink of Stella to add some sparkle. It looks far more sparkly IRL!

Happy stamping!

Floral Fusion

 Hello folks!

The pretty, layered sketch over at CAS on Friday really caught my eye this week and it's definitely one I'll reach for again, I used it with the fresh, Spring colours over at Fusion:

We had a holiday weekend here in Australia so it was a good opportunity to organise some of my stash - when the boys were little the big bloke hand built an amazing Lego station for them. It's made out of some beautiful, native woods with 33 separate drawers. I've been threatening to steal it from my boys for ages as they haven't touched their Lego in months so that's exactly what I did over the weekend.

In doing so it made me realise how many once loved stamp sets have remained unlinked for years like this pretty bloom from Stamping' Up's Flower Shop. Drawing inspiration from the silver bunny in the Fusion pic, I embossed it in silver, coloured it with Copics and added a variety of stamped leaves and die cuts.  The sentiment's from Altenew.

This one's also going over to Time Out where they have a Spring-themed challenge happening.

By the way, I still have a few drawers sitting empty which gives me the perfect excuse to go shopping and fill them doesn't it?

Happy stamping!

MFT Colour Challenge #187

Hello inkers!

Time for a new set of colours to play with over at MFT :

I love the fresh, Spring-like colour palette which made me think of the saying 'April showers bring May flowers' so I inked up the very sweet Rain or Shine - I added Stitched Cloud Die-namics, some stencilled grass with the Grassy Edges Stencil and a selection of MFT designer paper. The sentiment's from Itty Bitty Basics.

Spring is an ongoing theme in blogland at the moment so I'm also linking up to Time Out's new 'Spring' challenge.  Simon Says Stamp's Monday challenge has a 'whatever the weather' theme happening so I'm throwing this one in the ring over there too.

It's Autumn here in Sydney but it's literally not stopped raining for the entire Summer. And rained. And rained. And rained some more. In fact, I'd almost say it's been worse than a UK Summer - which is really saying something!

Hope it's bright and sunny wherever you are,

Claire

Altenew - April 2022 Challenge

Hello, hope you had a fun and choc-filled Easter!

Here's a card for Altenew's current inspiration challenge:

I used Handpicked Bouquet - I love this set as it's one large stamp that can be cut down and arranged so it has an entirely different look. I white embossed and watercolored, then added a few leaves from Beautiful Day.  The background is the Dotted Lines Debossing Cover Die - the die is so intricate I felt as though the blooms were a little lost and looked like they were floating in mid air so I cut out a centre panel and matted it on black card stock using dimensional tape - a sentiment from Tiny Sentiments: Hello and a scatter of sequins and it was done.

Happy stamping!

Freshly Made Sketch #530

 Hello,

Hope you're having a great start to the week! I've been playing around with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the colours form The Colour throwdown:

I think most people were inspired to create a fresh Spring-like card with these colours but I immediately thought Christmas - must have been the gold! I've coloured a sweet digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil and added a thick layer of gold glitter to the bauble. It looked a bit cold with the neutral background so I added a strip of green patterned paper to bring all he colours together.  The background stamp and sentiment are both MFT.

Happy stamping!

MFT Colour Challenge #186

Hello folks,

I felt like doing nothing but colouring this week so here's a little card using the pretty colours from MFT:

I've used BB Birth-Yay with a variety of MFT patterned papers cut using Blueprints 24 and 27 dies.   This one's also going over to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge where they have a birthday theme.

Happy stamping!
