MFT Colour Challenge #175

Hello again,

I bought some new MFT goodies last week - another one of my favourite Pure Innocence images called Freezings Greetings:

I didn't immediately think 'Christmas' when I saw the colours but I do like a different Christmas combo instead of the traditional green and red. Its a more modern and fresh version, particularly with the lemon thrown in!

I've embossed the background with Christmas Background stamp and the dp is from the Very Merry Paper Pad.

This one's also going over to Addicted to Stamps and More's Make Your Mark challenge.

Happy stamping!

Addicted to CAS - Christmas

 Hello inkers,

Here's a CAS card for Addicted to CAS where the code word is 'Christmas:'

I stamped a trio of cute penguins from Whimsy Stamps, coloured them with Copics and added a simple MFT frame and sentiment.  My favourite snowy embossing folder from Tim Holtz has added a bit of texture.

It's also going over to Addicted to Stamps and More in their 'any occasion' challenge.

Happy stamping!

Festive Friends

Happy weekend folks,

Quick post for MFT's colour challenge.  I just had to get these Festive Friends because I love the old guy asleep on the chair. It's standing joke that my brother falls asleep every time I see him - although maybe that's more a reflection of me rather than him...

I coloured all the images with Copics so this one's going over to Addicted to Stamps and More's 'make your mark' challenge.  The strip of dp is MFT's Birthday Brights.

Happy stamping!

Your Next Stamp - Challenge #163

Hello inkers,

I haven't had a chance to play along with Your Next Stamp for ages - their latest challenge is to go bright,  with a burst of colour:

I made a very CAS card using two of my favourites - Dancing Dragonflies and Honey Bee. I created a little scene by die cutting a circular window and stencilling a background of grass, cloudy sky and sun rays.

This one's also being entered at Addicted to CAS where the theme is 'bugs',  CASology where the cue card is 'outside' and Addicted to Stamps and More with the challenge to use stencils and die cuts.  I'm also popping it over to Simon Says Stamp's Monday challenge where there's a 'things with wings' challenge happening.

Happy stamping!

Spring is in the Air - Altenew March Inspiration Challenge

Hello inkers,

Spring is in the air in the Northern Hemisphere so lots of Spring themed challenges happening at the moment, including one at the The Paper Players:

\

I used the crisp, fresh colours over at Altenew's Inspiration challenge, although I used a much lighter blue than what's in the pic. I really do need to keep referring to the photo when making a challenge card as I seem to take one look, then use an entirely different hue. I'm hoping it will still be accepted - it is a form of blue after all!

I used Peony Bouquet, this time white embossed on pink card stock and stamped with two tones of pink ink. I masked off a background with washi tape and blended the blue stripes with Salty Ocean distress ink. The sentiment's from Flora Motifs. The Peony has been die cut using the matching die set so I'm also popping this over to Addicted to Stamps and More for their 400th challenge to use a die cut and/or stencil challenge. It's also my second entry to Time Out's birthday challenge.

Happy stamping!

Hearts Galore!

Hello folks,

Lots of love related challenges out there in blog land at the moment. I've combined a few of them to make this CAS anniversary card:

I used a very old PTI set which is probably one of the first ones I bought called Heart Prints. I stamped them in varying shades of pinks and reds, die cut them and matted them against a gold heart underneath. You can't really tell from the pic but I've randomly used dimensional tape to pop some of them up. It's added some subtle dimension to a very simple layout.

This one's going over to Addicted to Stamps and More where the theme is 'any occasion', Addicted to CAS with the code word 'hearts', and Paper Players which has a colour challenge happening. I had no idea I had so many pinks and reds in my ink collection! Lastly, I've been inspired by the pretty image of patterned hearts over at Time Out - it immediately reminded me that I hadn't inked up this set in a long time!

Happy stamping!

Snow in a Row!

Hello folks,

It's only January and I've made two Christmas cards - must be a record! This very CAS card is for four challenges: Addicted to CAS where the code word is 'snow', Less is More's 'in a row' challenge, Addicted to Stamps and More's Christmas challenge and CASology,  where the cue card is 'unite.' What could be more united than family and friends at Christmas time? (Unless of course we're in the middle of a pandemic and we're not allowed to 'unite' at all!)

I used Ink to Paper's It's a Sign: Holiday Sentiments, with a simple row of three snowflakes, stamped in three different colours and with the sentiment stamped over the top. I might just have found 2021's Christmas card design...

Happy stamping!

MFT Sketch #523

Hello stampers, happy weekend to you!

I've got a few parcels of happy mail arriving this week - I was lucky enough to get an MFT voucher for Christmas, which lasted about 2 days since they've just had a 30% off sale! A new sketch is always a good opportunity to ink up the new stuff and I thought Old Friends would go perfectly:

I also used the City Block Background, embossed in white on Grout Gray card stock. The dp is from Birthday Brights.

This one's going over to Time Out's Life in the City challenge, since I've used the City Block stamp - she looks quite dressed up, ready for a day out in the city don't you think?

For the first time ever I'm also playing along at Addicted to Stamps and More with a challenge to 'make your mark.' I used Copics to colour in my little, old granny. It will probably make it's way to my Mum in the UK who will probably be quite insulted as she's still a bit of a glamourpuss even at the the ripe old age of 81!

Hope you get the time to get inky this weekend!
