Time for a Twofer

Hello again,

I've been wanting to play along with Darnell's Twofer challenge for a while now but DT commitments have taken priority.  I had a look last night and realised there were only a few hours left until the end of the blossoms challenge so I made two very clean and simple cards using CAS-ual Friday's Wallflower:

Short but sweet today!

Time Out - Wintry Reminder

Hi folks!

I've had the honour of being this month's Guest designer over at Time Out this month so here's a second card to remind you to get your entries in for their latest challenge. The theme is Winter with the optional twist of  White on White:

This week I chose to do the optional twist and used PTI's Lovely Layers to create a snow white Winter bloom. I smothered a couple of the layered die cuts with white glitter, then alternated the layers with vellum and white cardstock. The Pretty Frame Die is another PTI purchase...I love the layered look you can create with it.

Go check out the talented design team's creations won't you and if you include a card with the twist, you'll be in the running for a gift certificate from Uniko!

Happy Stamping!

Time Out Card Challenge - Guest Designer

G'day again folks!

Hope 2017 is proving a good year for you all. I had a little win over at Time Out last month so I'm delighted to be guest designing for their latest challenge.  This week it's a theme challenge: 'Winter, with the optional twist of white on white.'

I kept my creation very CAS - I sponged a circle using distress inks and then stamped and embossed the pretty snowflake inside, adding a touch of bling for some Wintry sparkle. The centre of the snowflake has been die cut and popped up with some dimensional tape.  It's the first time I've used the snowflake stamp - it was a magazine freebie from Spellbinders and I must have had it for well over a year! I'm also linking up with Casology this week where the cue word is 'cold.'

Make sure you head on over to Time Out and have a look at what the talented ladies have done for their projects won't you? I'll be back next week with a second card for the challenge.

Happy stamping!

A Simple Freshly Made Sketch

Hello bloggers!

How was your weekend? Ours was spent playing by the river with the kids - the sun was shining, the wine was plentiful, the company was good and the kids behaved. (Kind of.) What more can you ask for?

There's a lovely, simple sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches - I wanted to practise some colouring with my Spectrum Noir markers so I used this sweet little outline stamp from Spellbinders:

The green strips at each edge are strips of washi tape and the sentiment is WMS - I love plain, simple masculine fonts...perfect for the boys.

That's all for now- hope you have a fabulous week!

All Pinked Out

Morning bloggers!

I've been feeling a little 'pinked out' recently - the last 4 or 5 cards have all had their fair share of pink or red so I've used some more masculine papers for this weeks Freshly Made Sketch:

The papers are from a 6x6 Hampton Art pad which came in a big bunch of crafty goodies from Melinda Spinks a few months ago.   The cute tortoise is a Spellbinder stamp which I've coloured with Copics and Spectrum Noir markers.

Thanks for stopping by...have a wonderful week!

Colour Q #278

Evening folks!

Well so much for getting back into regular card making since the kidlets returned to school.  My back has kind of given out on me this week which makes bending over a crafty project rather difficult.  In fact I feel about 95 at the moment...which would be fine if I was anywhere near that age, but I've still about 55 years to go.

At least I've managed to make a very CAS card with this week's new Colour Q palette:

I love these colours...who would have thought pink, red and orange would look so good together? I've used nothing but stamps for this - one of the pretty sakura blooms from Waltzingmouse's Asian Gardens and a freebie from a Spellbinders Christmas set.  I didn't think it needed any other embellishment.

Make sure you pay a visit to the other very talented girls on the DT - there's so much inspiration this week, you'll want definitely want to get those ink pads out!

Happy stamping!

Colour Q #277

Hello!

Can you hear the sigh of relief from parents all over Australia? It's back to school day tomorrow for the kids and as much as I love them being at home, I'm quite happy to get my house back.  It may even look less like a no-go zone by tomorrow afternoon, unlike the last 6 weeks where it has alternated from bomb site to squatters delight.

Tuesday's rolled around again so time to get the new Colour Q palette out - are you ready to get pinky?

I do love a bit of pink in my male dominated household. The colours were the perfect excuse to ink up some new stamps from Spellbinders. Cute image isn't it? I thought that little elephant might double up for a new baby card too..minus the presents of course.

Hope you get a bit of crafty time to join in this week - can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!
