Brilliant Butterfly

 Hello, happy weekend!

Here's a very CAS card for a few challenges - The Card ConceptAddicted to CAS where the code word is 'birthday', Cut it Up with a theme of Spring flowers/butterflies and the latest Freshly Made Sketch:

Not much stamping on this one, besides the sentiment. I used alcohol inks to colour the Stamplorations butterfly die cut, with some glitter paper for the wings. The base is another die cut cover plate, again from Stamplorations and the sentiment is from MFT.

Happy stamping!

Hooray for Hexagons!

Hello folks,

I've made a CAS card for CASology where the cue card is 'long' and Addicted to CAS where the code word is 'shapes:'

I inked up an Avery Elle set called All Squared Up which has a long stamp, the length of a card, made up of lots of little blank hexagons. There's a tiny individual hexagon stamp that you can use to fill in the blanks so I used a rainbow palette and added a sentiment from PTI. The stamping took about 5 minutes but it literally took me about an hour to find a sentiment that worked!

Thanks for popping by,

Claire

MFT Sketch/Colour Challenge

Hello inkers,

Here's a simple card combining MFT's sketch and colour challenges:

I've used You're Super (retired) with the City Block Background, stamped in grey, then stencilled with Radiating Rays.

Short and sweet today!

Freshly Made Sketch #476

Hello folks,

I'm still in a flowery kind of mood with this little card inspired by the latest Freshly Made Sketch, using the soft colours from The Color Throwdown:

I've used Altenew's Beautiful Day and a sentiment by Ink to Paper. The Zig Zag stamp is from CAS-ual Fridays.  I'm also throwing into the The Paper Players Spring themed challenge.

Happy stamping!

Spring is in the Air - Altenew March Inspiration Challenge

Hello inkers,

Spring is in the air in the Northern Hemisphere so lots of Spring themed challenges happening at the moment, including one at the The Paper Players:

\

I used the crisp, fresh colours over at Altenew's Inspiration challenge, although I used a much lighter blue than what's in the pic. I really do need to keep referring to the photo when making a challenge card as I seem to take one look, then use an entirely different hue. I'm hoping it will still be accepted - it is a form of blue after all!

I used Peony Bouquet, this time white embossed on pink card stock and stamped with two tones of pink ink. I masked off a background with washi tape and blended the blue stripes with Salty Ocean distress ink. The sentiment's from Flora Motifs. The Peony has been die cut using the matching die set so I'm also popping this over to Addicted to Stamps and More for their 400th challenge to use a die cut and/or stencil challenge. It's also my second entry to Time Out's birthday challenge.

Happy stamping!

MFT Sketch #531

 Hello fellow inkers,

I've made a card inspired by the soon to close Just Us Girls challenge with an inspiration pic that features the Northern Lights.  Seeing the Northern Lights is at the very top of my bucket list - I spent quite a few months in Canada in my 20's and my only regret is that I didn't have the time to go and see this spectacular sight.

I wouldn't even try and attempt to replicate it using ink - I'm amazed at how some of the DT have managed to do so. Instead I created a space-like background using similar colours. I've then added on a splatter of stars using white gesso paint:

I've also used the sketch over at MFT - the little spaceman is from Space Explorer (now retired) and I've used Stitched MOD Rectangle Die-namics.

Time Out are having a birthday challenge to celebrate their 7th birthday so I'm popping this one over there too!

Happy stamping!
