Geometric Rainbow

Hello folks,

Just sneaking in with a CAS card for the geometric challenge over at Addicted to CAS:

A very old WMS stamp for this one with coloured in a rainbow of Copics. I'm amazed I was able ink up each of those CAS-ual Fridays 'Celebrate' letters individually without getting ink all over that white space!

Happy stamping!

Seize the Birthday - Surprise Party Guest

 Hello folks,

It's been a busy week with family visiting from overseas. I look forward to these visits for months in advance but saying goodbye is still hard even though I've lived in Australia for 25 years.  I never know quite when I'll see loved ones again so it always takes a few days to get back into the normality of life.

And the normality is that cards need to be made, this time for Seize the Birthday's latest challenge.  I'm chuffed to bits to be their surprise party guest:

The topping for this challenge is 'stencilling' but you don't have to add the topping. I chose a spotty stencil from CAS-ual Fridays and used a rainbow of inks for a bright and cheery background. The sentiment is Whimsy Stamps - stamped in black and embossed in clear sparkly EB.

There's lots of amazing inspiration from the DT as usual and don't forget, you could get the opportunity to 'take the cake' and be a future party guest on the blog!

Happy stamping!

Addicted to CAS - Masculine

Hello inkers,

It's been ages since I entered a CAS challenge - with my sports mad nephew's upcoming birthday it was just the excuse I needed to enter the masculine challenge at Addicted to CAS:

I've had this set called Boys and Toys so long, I couldn't even tell which company made it - it's almost 20 years old. It's a very simple set, perfect for a teen boy, hence the soccer ball bouncing all over the card. The huge birthday sentiments are from one of my favourite CAS-ual Friday's sets, Bold Wishes.

Happy 11th Birthday Time Out

Hello again,

Time Out's celebrating 11 years of challenges with a challenge to CASE Donna's beautiful card:

Apparently CASE means 'copy and selectively edit' - I always thought it meant 'copy and share everything' so I guess I'm doing both here! Lots of lovely elements to inspire from Donna's card - I created a stamped background with snowflakes instead of flowers from CAS-ual Friday's Snowy Sayings.  I also added some embossing on the frame and a simple sentiment against a white background.

Thanks for popping by!

Say it With Stripes

Hello inkers,

A very CAS take on Time Out's theme of 'striped.'

I used PTI's Background Basics: Super Stripes and CASual Friday's Shenanigans.  Always good to get the older stash out and give it a re-ink!

Happy stamping!

Shaping Up!

Hello folks!

Here's a super CAS card using the sketch from Sunday Stamps and the code word 'shapes' over at Addicted to CAS:

I used a couple of older sets from CAS-ual Fridays and Avery Elle. The Avery Elle set, All Squared Up,  has a trio of little triangles that I stamped around the bold sentiment to create a star. I also added some Glossy Accents to the dots on the 5 to add some shine.

Enjoy your weekend!

Altenew June Inspiration Challenge and a Rainbow One Layer

Hello folks,

Here's a couple of cards - the first for Altenew's June Inspiration challenge. Lots of Altenew bits and pieces on this one - the stamp's Blissful Blossoms with a sentiment from Handpicked Bouquet,  framed with Mini Instant Camera Frame Die and set against Majestic Bloom EB.

Next is up is a one layer for The Paper Players and Addicted CAS. I used CAS-ual Friday's Amazeballs with a big, bold 'hello' sentiment, coloured with lots of rainbow Copics. Because I used special card stock for Copic colouring I had to cut a panel and back it on to some stronger stuff so hoping it will still be considered a one layer! The card stock is way to thin to stand up on it's own.

Happy stamping!

Paper Players Meets Color Throwdown

 Hello bloggers,

Here's a very late entry for LeAnne's sketch challenge over at The Paper Players using the colours from Color Throwdown:

Not the best photo as it's dark so I might try and improve it tomorrow. PTI bloom and sentiment with a CAS-ual Friday's white embossed background! The little die cut label is from the first set of dies I ever bought for my Cuttlebug about 17 years ago...what's old is new again, eh?

Happy stamping!

Paper Players Colour Challenge

Hello inkers!

I've had a little break from card making in the last few days - we're in the home stretch of the Summer holidays over here so we spent a few days relaxing in the sunshine at Boomerang Beach. It will be back to the mayhem of school in a couple of weeks.

I was determined to pull out a stamp that hadn't been inked for a while so reached for Mon Ami from CASual Fridays and used the pretty colours from The Paper Players. The background was stamped with PTI's Super Stripes - it took forever so it's almost a shame it's been covered by the flower and polaroid die cut! I've also used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches but made a portrait version instead of the landscape.

Hope you get time to get your fingers inky this weekend!

Colour Throwdown #710

Hello folks,

Quick post with a card for the Colour Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches:

I layered some snowflake dies from CAS-ual Fridays, added a greeting from MFT and set it against Altenew's Dotted Lines Debossing Cover Die.

Happy stamping!

Going Dotty

Hello folks,

I was beginning to think I was immune to Covid but sure enough tested positive this week along with my youngest so what else is there to do, other than isolate together and make a couple of cards?

The first one is for Addicted to CAS' 'dots' challenge:

All CAS-ual Fridays products on this one - I blended a rainbow circle with distress inks, went over the top with CF Bubbly Stencil then stamped over the top with Shenanigans. I'd love to say it's almost a one layer but its a die cut circle and not masked...there's no way I could have done all that blending without getting ink all over that lovely white space!

The second one is for MFT's colour challenge using Festive Old Friends. I used an old sketch from the Deconstructed Sketch blog - I used to love that challenge and there's still a link to all the old sketches if you feel like your mojo needs a bit of a push.  Happy stamping!

MFT Colour Challenge #188 and Friendship

Hello inkers,

A couple of cards for different challenges - the first for MFT's colour challenge using Sweet Christmas Wishes (retired) and a sentiment from Bitty Holiday Wishes:

The second one is for Addicted to CAS' 'friendship' challenge. I've used a heap of CAS-ual Friday's products including Bubbly Stencil, Scallop Tag and 'hello' sentiment.

Covid's hit our household yet again - second time in 5 weeks but at least we don't all have to isolate this time.  When will it ever end...

Happy stamping!

Fifty and Fabulous

Hello folks,

I've lost count of the number of friends turning 50 this year. Since I live on the opposite side of the world to most of them, I forget that we're all ageing and it's come as a bit of a shock that all the friends I was running around with in my teens, are turning the big 50:

This card was inspired by the pic on The Card Concept but since I've just had a lovely few days away with a friend I seem to have lost all track of time and missed linking up. So, I'm just posting it to Sunday Stamps, having been inspired by their 'split in two' sketch above.  I've used CAS-ual Fridays WTF to get the message across!

Happy stamping!

CAS Christmas Card

Hello folks,

There's always  a rush of last cards isn't there? Either for people you'd forgotten or for people who you weren't expecting to get a card from!

I've made a very CAS card for 3 challenges - AAA Cards with an 'along the edge' challenge and optional snowy theme, Colour Throwdown and CAS on Friday's Winter themed challenge:

I used Ink to Paper's It's a Sign: Holiday Sentiments with some CAS-ual Fridays snowflake die cuts from sparkly white paper. A scattering of bling and it was done.

We're on tenterhooks here as my in-laws are booked to fly over to Australia for Christmas. We haven't seen them for 6 years and if they have to cancel because of this new Covid variant we'll all be devastated. Such horrible, uncertain times we live in.

Fingers crossed Christmas goes ahead without a hitch for everyone!

Happy stamping!

You Had Me At Hello

 Hello again,

Another post, another card for four different challenges - Time Out  for their movie theme challenge (with optional glitz/glitter), Sunday Stamp's sketch challenge, Color Throwdown and Just Us Girls for their Word Week Challenge (script):

Can you remember the movie with the line 'you had me at hello?' It's from Jerry Maguire and it inspired me to ink up a newbie from CAS-ual Fridays, aptly named  Hello. I love the bold script style of the stamp and added a good slathering of clear glitter to the 'h' to really make it pop. The purple border stamp is an oldie from Waltzingmouse and the flowers are from Ink to Paper.

Thanks for popping by again,

Claire

Déja Vu

Hi folks!

I couldn't papercraft my way out of a paper bag at the moment (excuse the pun), but when I saw this  stunner of a card by Cecile, it inspired me to grab the colours and get stamping. I just haven't been making enough masculine cards recently and I thought the colours were perfect for a boy's card.

In case you're thinking the card looks familiar, I actually CASed myself and based it on this previous card, using the same Winnie and Walter stamp set but opting for stars instead of circles:

This is also for a new to me challenge called Le Créablablablog, based in France - not only has it tested my paper crafting skills, it's also tested my appalling French. I learnt French for 5 years at school (a long time ago) but can only remember the very basics. Google Translate is a wonderful thing!

I'm also popping it over to Addicted to Stamps and More for their 'any occasion' challenge and to The Paper Players where the theme is 'cards for boys.'

Happy stamping!
