Finding my Style

Hello bloggers!

Time flies when you're having fun doesn't it? We've just spent a few days camping down in beautiful Victoria - perfect weather for it, not too hot and not too cold. I'm only glad we didn't go this weekend since the temperatures have gone up to a blistering 40C!

My mojo always takes a bit of a hit when I've had a break - what better way to get the creative juices going, than doing a challenge for a brand new challenge blog.  The Card Concept encourages us to find our style, or even try a new one - you can find all the details here - love the idea of it and they have heaps of different inspiration from their design team. The first challenge is a colour challenge:

Can't beat a bit of pink and brown, especially for the birth of a little girl.  I've chosen to do a clean and layered style using Mama Elephant's Nursery Deco set. I had some happy mail a couple of weeks ago from those lovely people at Simon Says Stamp. I was lucky enough to win the $50 voucher for one of the challenges and this is one of the sets I chose.

Just before I go, thought I'd show you a quick photo of the big bloke fishing at Hume Lake - I think it's so typical of the rugged Aussie landscape. I also thought it would warm up some of my American friends who are suffering in the cold at the moment!

Thanks for stopping by and stay warm,

Claire x

  7. Well, while you're sweltering hot at 40C....we were freezing cold for the past few weeks at a frigid -40C (with the windchill the night time temps were -57C). Wanna trade places?

I'm so excited that you are playing along with the first Card Concept Challenge! Your card is beautifully Clean & Layered with spot-on choices for DP and colors! I LOVE the alphabet stamp! The banners & the button & twine anchor your images perfectly on your card! Awesome design! The little giraffe - yep, totally steals the show!

  8. Your choices of DSP on this card make this a totally adorable baby card Claire! You've totally nailed this colour challenge. Thanks for joining us with our first challenge at The Card Concept!
ps. you're lucky you're not with me in Melbourne today - it's going to hit 44C. Not sure how the tennis players are continuing to play when I'm melting sitting on the couch! lol I'm originally a Ballarat girl (coldest town in Victoria) so the heat and I don't mix!

  9. So adorable, Claire ... a perfect combination of DP and sweet image! Ahhh, heat ... I do heat ... we have days like this (even in winter) ... p'raps not quite as hot (!) but sunny and blue ... just now though it's grey ... and dull ... and damp. Send sunshine! Anita :)
