Chanelling Vintage

G'day again folks!

Just managed to get this little card into Freshly Made Sketches and The Card Concept before the linky closes:

The Card Concept has a vintage theme this week - I've taken my cue from the pretty script, the gold on the paper and the browns and creams. The panel was inked up with distress inks and gold embossed with a W Plus 9 script stamp.  I think it fits in the classy and elegant style best.

Thanks for popping by!

Less Is More - Alphabet

Hello, hello!

Quick card for Less is More where the theme is 'alphabet:'

The baby themed cards are getting very few and far between now - I think it's a sign of age! One friend though is due any minute now so this one will be winging its way to her on the birth of her baby boy. I used Mama Elephant's Nursery Deco.

Hope you're having a fabulous day!

Feel em' Up

Hello, hello,

It's the 17th of the month so it's time for the CAS-ual Fridays Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop - your monthly reminder to check for anything unusual on your bosoms/breasts/titties/boobs/mammaries - however you like to refer to them! In the last month alone one friend has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and another is currently recovering from surgery so get them checked!

This month the theme for the hop is 'With Love from your Sistah'.  I created my little cluster of vellum embossed blooms using CAS-ual Fridays Pretty Posies. The sentiment is from Calling All Sistahs - 50% of the profits from any purchases in the Calling All Sistahs range of stamps and dies are donated to NCBF.org for research and awareness programmes. I've also added a sprinkle of Pretty Pink Posh Sequins - these have been mixed exclusively for the CAS-ual Fridays Calling All Sistahs range.

As always with the hop, there is the change to win a CAS-ual Fridays gift certificate so leave a comment on any of the blogs below for your chance of winning. More importantly, schedule that annual mammogram and get feeling those boobies! Next on the hop is Vicki:

It just so happens that my card fits with the current theme for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge - to use pink red and white so I'm popping this card over there too.

Hope you have a fantabulous weekend!

Your Next Stamp - A Chance to Win!

Hello folks!

There's been a brand new release over at Your Next Stamp and they've very kindly asked if I would showcase one of the new sets on a card. The lovely folks at YNS are also giving you the chance to win - just make a comment below and you could be the random winner of Spectacular Phoebe and Friends:

Phoebe features quite a bit over at Your Next Stamp - this sweet set features a variety of fun spectacles for Phoebe and her buddies to wear. Rather than mask them on to her face,  I stamped them separately, fussy cut them and stuck them on, together with Phoebe's hat.  I've actually put the majority of the sentiment inside the card - the sentiment in it's entirety says 'You are...spect-tacular.'

I also used one of the stamps from the previous January release -Thick Stripe-tastic Diagonal Edge.  I white embossed some of the stripes on to a panel and  used a Copic to fill in some light pink stripes to the pink banner.  Just for a little bit of sparkle I added some sparkly, pastel YNS Gumdrops.

Make a comment below and you have the chance of winning this sweet set from Your Next Stamp - good luck and happy stamping!

Time Out for Mojo Monday #483

Hello folks!

It's an absolute scorcher in Sydney today - a record heat with 86% humidity and 45C by midday. It is really quite revolting and makes me long for the milder climes of the British Summer I grew up with!

To beat the heat I've stayed in the air con and made a card using this week's Mojo Monday sketch:

I love all the layers in the sketch so used a few scraps of patterned paper and Sweet Smiles by Lawn Fawn as the main image.   I'm also popping it over to Time Out who have a theme of friendship for their latest challenge:

'Friends are connected heart to heart, distance and time can't break them apart'

I've got some very sweet friends and this card will no doubt be winging its way to one of them in the near future!

Enjoy your weekend!

Less is More Colour Wheel

Hello there!

It's been a while since I made a card - we had a few days away before the kids went back to school and I've struggled to get back into inky mode!

Less is More is celebrating their sixth birthday with a colour wheel challenge using 3 adjacent colours from the colour wheel.  I went for greens and blues to make this card for one of my son't friends:

I had planned on doing a one layer card using Game On from PTI but ended up adding a couple of layers so it may not be 'less' enough for the challenge! I reckon it's still clean and simple though.  What do you think?

Thanks for popping by,
