CAS Leaves

Hello again,

Two posts in one day - I'm on a roll! Here's a super CAS card for the Addicted to CAS leaves challenge using the pretty hues from Colour Throwdown:

I used some foliage from Lawn Fawn, coloured with Copics and set against a die I bought from my local craft store years ago. I coped out some of the teeny tiny die cut squares and randomly coloured some others. The sentiment's from Poppy Stamps.

Enjoy your weekend!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #149

Hello bloggers,

Lawn Fawn's latest challenge is to use dies only so it gave me the perfect excuse to get cutting some letters from Quinn's ABCs:

I took my cue from Time Out's Inspired by Words challenge 'dare to be yourself as if you were a rainbow with gold at both ends' and coloured the letters with a rainbow of Copics - any excuse to create a rainbow! I added a smothering of Glossy Accents and dipped the letters in gold glitter.  For the background I used a LF Stitched Rectangle and cut it into strips to add some detail so this one's also going over to CAS on Friday where the theme is 'stripes.'

Have a great night!

Lawn Fawn Challenge #146

Hello, hope you are having a great weekend!

I haven't joined in with a Lawn Fawn challenge for such a long time and I have lots of older Lawn Fawn sets that I haven't inked up in a while:

I initially tried to create a watercolored background drawing inspiration from the pic and using all the colours but after a series of muddy disasters I decided less is more.  I used  Blissful Botanicals and Flutter By with a little sentiment that came all by itself and hasn't even got a name on the pack - but definitely Lawn Fawn!

I wanted the bright, Copic coloured butterfly to really pop against the blooms so I stamped that in black and used the brightest colours but white embossed everything else to create a soft background with some yellow blooms. Took a while but I'm happy with how it turned out!

Happy stamping!

Christmas Houses

 Hello folks,

Another CAS card for 3 of my favourite challenges - Paper Players' clean and simple challenge with a 'house' theme, Time Out's quote inspiration (who doesn't love Steve Martin?) and Sunday Stamps latest colour palette:

I created a little scene using Lawn Fawn's Simply Celebrate Winter. The night sky is from PTI's Watercolor Wonder - there's also a strip of embossed snow at the base of the houses using the same set but it was difficult to capture in the photo. Sentiment's from MFT!

Happy stamping!

All About the Sentiment

Hello folks,

My inky mojo has completely disappeared this week so I've only managed a very CAS card for Lawnfawnatic's Make the Sentiment a Star challenge:

I used Quinn's ABC's and Flutter By with a good sprinkling of glitter added to the white embossed die cut letters to make them really pop against the background. I was also inspired by the bold, fresh colours over at Sunday Stamps.

Happy stamping!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #110

Hello inkers,

We are officially out of lockdown here in Sydney - I'd like to say I've been partying up a storm but since I've been working, I actually haven't tasted freedom yet!

Anyway, here's a CAS card for the current Lawn Fanatics challenge  using an inspiration pic featuring pretty Autumnal colours against a blue sky:

No blue in this one - instead I focussed on the colours of the leaves and branches. Living in Australia, I miss the brilliant colours of a UK Autumn - the seasons here aren't as distinct and we just don't get beautiful reds, oranges and yellows on the trees.

I used the now retired Blissful Botanicals, coloured with Copics with a sentiment from A Birdie Told Me.

Thanks for popping by,

Claire

Lawnfawnatics Challenge #109 - Awesome Autumn

Hello inkers,

Here's my take on Lawn Fawn's Autumn themed challenge:

I stamped a framed Autumn scene using Into the Woods. The little birdie and sentiment is from A Birdie Told me and I used one of the sprigs from Blissful Botanicals (retired) to stamp a simple background using matching ink and cardstock.

Enjoy your weekend!

Lawn Fawn Challenge #108 - Inspiration Photo

Hello folks,

Here's my take on the latest Lawn Fawn challenge using their inspiration photo:

I love the colours and used some Copics to colour a couple of gold embossed butterflies from Flutter By. The stamped leaves are from Blissful Botanicals.  I could have spent all day colouring those butterflies...so relaxing!

Happy stamping!

Just Us Girls - Challenge #600!

 Hello inkers,

Just sneaking in with this little card before the Linky closes for the latest Freshly Made Sketch challenge - I used their sketch as inspiration for  Just Us Girls amazing 600th challenge!

I've used a few different Lawn Fawn sets for this one - lots of autumnal colouring with Copics. Since its JUG's 600th challenge their theme is to use 6 of something on a card so I've added 6 leaves to my image.

Happy birthday JUGS! Hope you get chance to join in with the inky celebrations!

Lawn Fawn Challenge #106

Hello again from lockdown!

I'm trying to think of the positives of lockdown and making my Christmas cards 3 months early is one of them. This one's for the sketch challenge from Lawn Fawn. I've used their Simply Celebrate Winter set:

I kept it very CAS, colouring the image and adding some sparkly snow with some glitter. I haven't got any LF patterned papers or background stamps so I made a watercolour background originally but thought it detracted from the stamp. In the end I just kept it simple and cut three strips of card stock for the background detail instead.

Thanks for popping by!

Lawn Fawn Challenge: Fun With Food

Hello folks,

Lawn Fawn have a food themed challenge happening this month so I pulled out their Sweet Smiles set to create this card:

We've had another extension to our current lockdown in Sydney- in fact I'm beginning to feel like one of these little gumballs cooped up inside my house for weeks on end.

This one's also going over to The Paper Players for Ann's sketch challenge.

Happy stamping!

Another Freshly Made Sketch!

Hello again folks!

I've been playing around with Freshly Made Sketch #400 again. Another Christmas card,  but this time I've used Lawn Fawn's Simply Celebrate Winter:

I'm also popping it over to Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday challenge where the theme's Anything Goes.

Short but sweet today - happy stamping!

CAS Christmas

Hello fellow inkers!

As someone who loves both heat and dry embossing, Less is More's latest challenge was right up my card making alley:

I love Christmas cards that aren't traditional Christmas colours so took my inspiration from the colours in Time Out's Home Sweet Home challenge.  I've heat embossed some snow on to the roofs of this sweet Lawn Fawn scene and added some dry embossed snowflakes just for good measure.

I'm also popping it over to CASology where the cue card is 'calm.' Who doesn't feel calm when they watch snow fall gently to the ground?

Happy stamping!

A Splash of Colour

Hi folks,

It's one of those rare days where I've managed to combine 3 challenges for the one card:

CAS(E) This Sketch fitted in perfectly with AAA's one third challenge and a splash of bright colour for CASology completed the trifecta. I stamped PTI's Watercolor Wonder which I was going to use as a border on the edge of the card. It looked a little boring though, so I added these cute crayons from Lawn Fawn. Funnily enough, they fitted perfectly over the colour - don't you just love it when stuff like that happens?

Happy stamping!

Having a Ball!

Hello bloggers,

AAA Card's latest challenge is to use just one image, with the optional twist of Spring. I've used  Color Thowdown's colour palette but I have taken a little artistic licence and used a very, very faint blue to do the glass:

The image used is Lawn Fawn's Sweet Smiles!

Happy stamping!

Rainbow Crayons

Hello folks!

Did you know there's a new Lawn Fawn challenge blog? Their second challenge is to make an interactive card - I had a quick look on Pinterest and apparently an easel card is considered to be interactive so I hope this counts:

I'm on a bit of a rainbow roll at the moment and coloured in these sweet little crayons from You Color my World in a rainbow of Copics. I also used some of the little faces from Sweet Smiles. The card base is actually a template from the Silhouette store - yes I could have sat there for 2 hours trying to work out how to make one but why bother when you can buy a template?

Can you spot the little mistake I made? Oops - I forgot to colour in part of the orange crayon. I'd like to blame this on the glass (or two) of wine I had whilst colouring but actually I probably just missed it as I've just found out I need glasses! I just got my first pair and have come to realise that I've been crafting whilst blind as a bat!

I'm also popping this into the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge, CAS-ual Friday's Rainbows challenge and Time Out's inspired by words challenge: 'When it rains look for rainbows, when its dark look for stars.'

Thanks for popping by!

Time Out for Mojo Monday #483

Hello folks!

It's an absolute scorcher in Sydney today - a record heat with 86% humidity and 45C by midday. It is really quite revolting and makes me long for the milder climes of the British Summer I grew up with!

To beat the heat I've stayed in the air con and made a card using this week's Mojo Monday sketch:

I love all the layers in the sketch so used a few scraps of patterned paper and Sweet Smiles by Lawn Fawn as the main image.   I'm also popping it over to Time Out who have a theme of friendship for their latest challenge:

'Friends are connected heart to heart, distance and time can't break them apart'

I've got some very sweet friends and this card will no doubt be winging its way to one of them in the near future!

Enjoy your weekend!
