A Sprinkle of Snow

Happy weekend everyone!

Casology have a new word for us this week- 'sprinkle.' Certainly no sentiments in my collection with the word sprinkle in them, but it did make me think of a sprinkling of snow:

I used Winnie and Walter's snow stencil with some texture paste, added some die cut snow drifts and a couple of cute penguins from Whimsy Stamps Penguins Winter Adventure. Too easy!

Thanks for stopping,

Time Out #55

G'day folks!

Time Out  are running a celebration challenge with fussy cutting as an optional twist. It was the perfect opportunity to ink up a new stamp I received free for my birthday month from Simon Says Stamp. Don't you just love freebies?

I also used some new Blueprints dies from My Favourite things. I love the idea of these dies - I find it so difficult to design a card sometimes and these are perfect for a starting off point. The only problem now is that I want all of them....

The patterned paper layers are all MME papers, matted on red card stock and I coloured the elephant with Spectrum Noir markers, then fussy cut him.

As I've used one of their lovely stamps, I'm linking it up with Simon Says Stamp's 'anything goes' challenge too!

Enjoy your weekend!

Papertrey Ink April 2016 Blog Hop

Morning, morning!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop time again, with a fab inspiration pic from artist Chad Hagen:

I immediately thought of the set Grunge Me when I saw this - it made me think of the distressed, geometric circle stamp. Then I started playing around with a circle mask and went in a completely different direction! Isn't that always the way? In the end I masked a whole heap of circles over each other using a variety of distress inks, then stamped the images in dark brown over the top. It's ended up very clean and simple - even with a grunge set, I seem to fail to get a grungy look!

Hope you get the chance to join in today!

Bright and Freshly Made Sketch

Hello there!

Not sure what it is about the school holidays but all my crafty mojo seems to go flying out the door the minute the boys get out of school.  Maybe it's because I'm too busy trying to think how I'm going to entertain them for a couple of weeks!  I tried to give it a kick start again with Freshly Made Sketches and The Card Concept:

Even the arrival of some happy mail from Simon Says Stamp couldn't really get my creative juices flowing this week - I used a pretty, stitched photo frame die to frame the WMS bloom, then added a WMS doily and a smattering of hearts from W Plus 9's Borders and Backgrounds 3. I'm plonking it into the clean and layered category for the Card Concept.

Catch you later!

Feeling Pinky

Hello bloggers!

In all the time I've been participating in two of my favourite challenges, I don't think I've ever combined them. This week's Freshly Made Sketch is such a simple one though, I thought I'd use it as my inspiration for the cue word over at Casology which is 'pink:'

I have a bit of a thing about pink and gold at the moment so gold embossed the SU butterflies and coloured them in with pink Copics.  For the background, I used Paper Smooches Curls and Swirls and the sentiment is Waltzingmouse.

Judging by the lack of posts on this little blog of mine, it looks like I've barely had time to ink up any stamps recently - definitely not the case...all will be revealed  in a couple of weeks...

Thanks for popping by!

Mojo Monday Fusion

Hello!

Happy weekend to you! It's been another quiet week on the crafty front - the kids have finished school for the holidays (where on earth did that term go?) and I've been celebrating my in-laws golden wedding anniversary with a few too many glasses of bubbles!

I have managed to make one card though, using this week's Mojo Monday sketch combined with the pretty colours from Fusion Card Challenge:

I love the pink and teal in the pic and the frosted glass made me think of vellum so I used that for the circular element. The stamps are from Waltzingmouse's Camellia, coloured with some raspberry pink copics.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend!

Freshly Made Sketch/The Card Concept

G'day folks!

It seems ages since I did anything other than a CAS card but when I saw the latest Freshly Made Sketch I felt the need to create some layers!

I used the inspiration pic over that The Card Concept as a starting point - I love cream and black, so elegant and perfect for a wedding or anniversary card.  I used a script stamp from W Plus 9 and gold embossed some Winnie and Walter blooms onto some vellum. I then layered these over some cream card - the vellum has made them look a lot softer than in the photo. I really must improve my night time photography skills....

Yet again I'm struggling to put this one in a category - classy and elegant or clean and layered? Let's go with clean and layered.

Thanks for calling by!

Where's the Washi?

Hello, hello,

Hope you are having a fantabulous weekend! Another quickie for this weeks Casology - the cue word this week is 'washi:'

I have heaps of washi in my collection - and barely touch it. It always looks so pretty hanging there at the craft shows and then I get it home and it sits in my stash gathering more and more dust!

Well at least I used a few strips for this little card - I covered the top of some card stock with  some strips of yellow, striped washi and then die cut the MFT sentiment. It looked a little bare with just the yellow washi so I added a strip of black and white chevron washi too. A smattering of enamel dots and that's it.  The only thing I didn't take into account is how difficult it would be to photograph it due to the two patterns. If you think you need glasses, you don't - I think the two patterns are kind of confusing the eyes!

Hope you enjoy your weekend, thanks for popping by,
