Hello again,
Second post for the day - this time for Freshly Made Sketches, using the colours from Color Throwdown and the inspiration words from Time Out who are celebrating their 5th birthday:
I have to admit, they're not the usual colours I'd gravitate to - I tend to go for pinks and oranges but after embossing the butterfly in copper embossing powder, I thought I throw in the blue and yellow and I really like how it's come together.
The butterfly is a die from Stamplorations and the white embossing is MFT, together with the sentiment.
Thanks for popping by!

Oh, that butterfly is beautiful! And I love the background too!
ReplyDeleteOh Claire-this is a real stunner. The colours are tricky to work with but you have done wonders with them. I love that soft texture at the top of the card. You have been with us for the 5 years and for that we are so thankful. We always love to see you in the gallery and lets hope it is another 5 years! Fab to see you at Time Out
ReplyDeleteThat delicate coppery butterfly is fabulous against the shimmery shadow, Claire ... and the soft flourishes embossed in the background create such a great sense of movement for it! Lovely layering ... such an elegant card! Thanks so much for playing along with us at our 5th birthday celebration at Time Out! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Great combination of challenges AND the use of the "not usual" colors!
