An Oriental Flavour

G'day there bloggers!

Hope your week is going well! I've been playing around with some Perfect Pearls Powders for the latest Addicted to CAS challenge - the cue word is 'Oriental' so what could be more perfect for the theme than Waltzingmouse's Asian Gardens:

I've had a set of these powders for well over a year now and I've used them precisely once.  In fact, one of the colours hasn't been opened at all so I'm also entering this card into Darnell's NBUS (never before used schtuff) challenge.  Haven't heard of Darnell? Then you must be hiding under a rock somewhere in blogland...she can be found over here and has an absolutely unique and often hilarious blogging style!

Since my card also features three stamped panels (again), I'm going to enter it into Casology's challenge too - this week the cue word is 'three.'

Happy stamping!

  1. The metallic embossing is fabulous Claire, and the 3 panels bring to mind a beautiful Japanese screen. Awesome butterfly too!

  4. You have those three gorgeous panels, too, Claire! Those powders are perfect for the Asian garden you created. I love all the shine, texture, and dimension you achieved and that dragonfly punctuation is perfection! Thank you so much for playing in my second NBUS Challenge!! Hugs, Darnell

(Don't even ask me how long it's been since my Perfect Pearls and H2Os have seen the light of day. I think I tell you that every time. It's on the list of things to do or get back to doing and your name is on the line next to that entry to remind me where to go for inspiration when I get to it!)

  6. I've been having a gentle meander through all your recent cards, Claire (since I've been mostly MIA in blogland for a while) ... this is so striking ... the shimmer from the PP is fabulous against the black! I'm also in love with your dramatic Laura B CASE with such bright, vibrant colour against black ... and with the soft, gently coloured floral silhouette tile card ... just stunning! Anita :)

  7. Hello, Claire,
thank you for visiting my blog! Your card is just amazing! It is so elegant, so clean... The use of a black background is perfect to heighten the colours of a drawing, just as you did! These little gentle flowers remind cherry flowers in a Japanese garden and the metallic brilliant colours give the card the luxury of Eastern palaces and temples. I really love it!
