Casology Guest designer!

Hello folks!

Hope you had a wonderful Easter and that the Easter bunny was kind to you.

This is the first of two posts tonight.  I was thrilled to win the last Casology challenge - and then a slight feeling of mild panic set in as it meant I would be guest designer for this week. I mean the Casology design team is a lot to live up to isn't it? How they think of such clever ideas each week is beyond me - sometimes I look at the cue word and all I'm hit with is a complete blank!

The cue word this week is 'news.'

I took the cue word quite literally and used an appropriate sentiment from Waltzingmouse's Camelia set.  I die cut the Dienamics daisy from some newsprint paper,  blended in some colour and put it against a gesso stencilled Memory Box background.

Make sure you check out all the Casology Design Team have to offer won't you - they are sure to get your crafty taste buds going!

Thanks for popping by,

Claire x

  1. Love how you have interpreted the 'news' Claire! Great use of newsprint too! Awesome to have you as our GD this week!

  2. Claire using the newsprint paper for your flowers is just gorgeous and the two toned inking on the petals is divine!

  3. Your card is just gorgeous, and I love how you interpreted the cue word in two ways. Thanks so much for being our Guest Designer this week at CASology, and congratulations.

  4. Congratulations on your GD spot, Claire ... you've done the CASology team proud! Gorgeous card ... brilliant idea using the sponged newsprint for your sweet bloom ... it's just lovely against that texture-y embossing! Anita :)

  5. So great to have you as GD this week, Claire - love the subtle colour and texture of your background and the subtle message of news on your flower!

  6. So great to have you as our Guest Designer! You are truly one of my FAVES...yeah, no kidding!
    This card is DREAMY!!!!!

  7. Claire, it's so great to have you guest designing with us this week! I love your interpretation of the cue this week -- in the newsprint flower and the sentiment! Brilliant!
