Going Dotty

Hello folks,

I was beginning to think I was immune to Covid but sure enough tested positive this week along with my youngest so what else is there to do, other than isolate together and make a couple of cards?

The first one is for Addicted to CAS' 'dots' challenge:

All CAS-ual Fridays products on this one - I blended a rainbow circle with distress inks, went over the top with CF Bubbly Stencil then stamped over the top with Shenanigans. I'd love to say it's almost a one layer but its a die cut circle and not masked...there's no way I could have done all that blending without getting ink all over that lovely white space!

The second one is for MFT's colour challenge using Festive Old Friends. I used an old sketch from the Deconstructed Sketch blog - I used to love that challenge and there's still a link to all the old sketches if you feel like your mojo needs a bit of a push.  Happy stamping!

Time Out #215 - Masculine 50th

Hello again,

It's about time I made a card that hasn't got flowers on it so Time Out's inspiration photo was the perfect prompt with lots of blue, black, gold and silver - perfect for a masculine 50th card:

The stamped and embossed stripes are PTI and the rest is Winnie and Walter with some sparkly die cut MFT numbers.  I'm also popping it over to Less is More's masculine challenge.

This one's off to the UK to my oldest friend, Michael. We've known each other our whole lives and assumed at the age of 6 that we'd get married when we grew up -  as you do at that age!  44 years later and he's still one of my favourite friends!

Happy stamping!

Altenew Inspiration Challenge June 2022

Hello, happy weekend!

I'm still stuck in floral mode,  particularly as I'm yet to play with lots of new Altenew goodies which arrived in my happy mail last week. For this quick and easy card I used the Meadow Burst stencil:

It's actually 5 stencils that are layered together to create the image - so clever how it works, with three little holes that you line up together so you know you have it all in the correct place.  To add a bit more interest I die cut a centre panel and adhered it to the base with dimensional tape. The cut sentiment is the Fancy Hello die which I've smothered in Wink of Stella and I added a few pink sequins for a little more colour!

Thanks for stopping by,

Claire

MFT Colour Challenge #190

Hello folks!

Love the sketch over at Sunday Stamps this week so I combined it with the latest MFT colours and Paper Players' Tic Tac Toe challenge:

A couple of retired MFT favourites on this one - Funky Flowers and Bundle of Blossoms Background stamp.  The sentiment's from Itty Bitty Basics, all set against a Stitched Mod Rectangle. The dp is a very old one from My Mind's Eye which I had a complete obsession with years ago...I still have lots of tiny pieces of it in my stash as I can't bear to part with it!

In the Paper Players challenge I've gone for the central strip - embossing (white background stamp if you can see it!), floral and dots.

Happy stamping!

Altenew May Inspiration Challenge

Hello bloggers!

I've been waiting on some happy mail from Altenew for quite a while now - not sure what's better, the anticipation or the sound of that pretty package falling on your doorstep!

I've used Blissful Blossoms Stamp and Die Bundle for my CAS card, placed around the Mid-Century Frame Die . The die is so pretty - much more delicate than I thought it would be,  so perfect for a CAS card.

There's a few floral/botanical challenges out there in blogland so this one's also going over to Addicted to CAS for their 'flower' challenge and CASology's 'botanical' challenge.

Happy weekend and happy stamping!

MFT Colour Challenge #189

Hello folks,

Here's a quick post for MFT's latest colour challenge featuring BB Viking, one of my favourite masculine sets:

The paper strips in the background are from the now retired Birthday Brights.

Have a norse day!

Christmas Houses

 Hello folks,

Another CAS card for 3 of my favourite challenges - Paper Players' clean and simple challenge with a 'house' theme, Time Out's quote inspiration (who doesn't love Steve Martin?) and Sunday Stamps latest colour palette:

I created a little scene using Lawn Fawn's Simply Celebrate Winter. The night sky is from PTI's Watercolor Wonder - there's also a strip of embossed snow at the base of the houses using the same set but it was difficult to capture in the photo. Sentiment's from MFT!

Happy stamping!
