Poppy Stamps Challenge #90

Hello folks,

My oldest son turns sweet 16 next week, the same day I celebrate my own milestone birthday (I've told him for once in my life the attention is going to be on me!) I use the term 'sweet' very loosely - not really one I'd use for a 16 year old boy!

The card I've made for him features two of his favourite things - food and puns. He is an absolute master at making up puns so hopefully he'll appreciate the one provided by Poppy Stamps featuring donuts:

The theme for this months PS challenge is to use pretty patterned papers - again, not sure it's pretty as I used some very old dp which has a real masculine feel to it. The set is Poppy Stamp's Donut What I'd Do with matching die. 

This one's also going over to Sunday Stamps for their colour challenge and to The Paper Players for their sketch challenge.

Happy Birthday Time Out!

Hello again, 

One of my favourite challenges, Time Out,  celebrates 8 years this week so they're celebrating with a birthday themed challenge:

 

I've used the sketch and colour challenges from MFT and created a little scene with one of their Adorable Elephants - the grout grey background was white embossed with the Garden Flourish Background stamp.

Altenew February Inspiration Challenge

Hello again,

Just sneaking in a card  before the end of the February Inspiration Challenge over at Altenew: 

I stencilled a background using Altenew Embossing Paste and Grid Stencil, then added a wash of yellow watercolour. The watercoloured stamps are from Handpicked Bouquet and the sentiment's from Tiny Sentiments Hello.

MFT Sketch and Colour Challenge

Hello folks!

My first Christmas card for the year for MFT's sketch and colour challenges using their very cute Reindeer Games:

This is a great sketch for using up all those little scraps of MFT patterned paper that you can't bear to get rid of so I'll definitely be using it again.  I added a touch of sparkly Kindyglitz to the lights in her hair and added a sentiment from Bitty Holiday Wishes which is my favourite all round holiday sentiment set.

MFT Sketch #580

Hello fellow inkers!

I love the colours over at Colour Throwdown this week so I used them for the latest MFT Sketch:

I made a square version and gold embossed MFT's Marble Background stamp (now retired),  inked with some Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean. The sentiment's from Essential Sentiments, one of my all-time favourite sentiment sets.

It looked a bit bare with a plain white heart in the middle so I drew some inspiration from Michele at I Card Everyone who's guest designer over at Time Out.  Do check out her card as it's an absolute stunner -  I love how she's placed the tiny heart in the sentiment so I CASed it and die cut a gold heart with a coat of glitter, placing it into the negative space created by my larger die cut heart.

Tic Tac Toe!

Hello again,

I love a good Tic Tac Toe challenge so had to join in with The Paper Players this week:

 

I've gone for the diagonal with this one featuring some pretty blooms and birthday sentiment from Ink to Paper and a Cheery Lynn flourish die cut which has been used so often now, I surprised it's not blunt!

This ones also going over to Time Out again for their quote challenge and I've used the colours from Sunday Stamps.

MFT Sketch/Time Out #206 - Friend Quote

Hello inkers,

Time Out's inspiration challenge is based on a quote about friends so I've combined it with MFT's sketch challenge #578 and used Bring Out the Sunshine:

I didn't find it an easy sketch to work with and ended up flipping it upside down and using some Stitched Clouds to frame my image.  

I think the sentiment's very appropriate for the challenge and I do like to think that my friends also overlook the broken fence, dead flowers, huge number of weeds and overlong grass which is the current the state of my garden!
