Hi Scrappers,
Another week, another Play Date Cafe challenge - here are the colours:
The colours made me think of a kids card this week so I thought I'd get organised and make a card for my eldest son. I used a 6x6 MME Lime Twist paper pad and found a paper pieced rocket pattern online by Annaka Crockett. I've added a bit of glitter, some stars and a bit of twine. There's not a hint of pink in sight so he should like it!

Kraft it Up!
Hi Scrappers,
Thought I'd have another bash at a Kraft it Up challenge this month. The jury's still out here when it comes to Kraft - love how other people manage to jazz it up but I always feel as though my pages are slightly.....what's the word I'm looking for? That's right - dull!! Maybe I needed a bottle of pink Glimmer Mist for this one!
So the challenge this time is to use some pink on our layout - I've done a little bit of stamping on mine but, since it was a brand new stamp, it doesn't seem to have taken very well to the page! The chippy hearts have been sprayed with some clear Glimmer Mist and I did a bit of paper piercing around the edges, inked them and added a paper bow. I managed to get some old sheet music from our local op shop for a couple of bucks too - don't you just love it when that happens?!
Anyway, that's all folks - thanks for stopping by,

Getting Sketchy with Scrapville
Hi Scrappers,
Have you had a go at the Scrapville sketch yet? I've been using some of the gorgeous Kissing Booth scrap pack, together with a few bits and pieces from my stash to come up with this -
It's a good job I've got another couple of weddings to go to this year - I've just about scrapped the life out of all the photos I had from this one!
Happy scrapping and thanks for stopping by,
Claire xx

Time for a Splash!
Hi Scrappers,
The Play Date Cafe is having a splash this week with the colour hot pink. In other words the theme is black, white and hot pink - one of my favourite colour combos.
I did a bit of splashing out myself this week and bought some new Kaisercraft background stamps. I've used the oriental themed one for this card. No idea what it says - for all I know it could be very insulting. I hope I've used it the right way up!

My Minds Eye Challenge 32
Hi Scrappers,
It's that time again - where I trawl through my bottomless stash of MME stuff and realise that I have papers and embellishments from just about every collection but none of them seem to match! For the card challenge I've made a golden anniversary card for my Auntie and Uncle. Fifty years - can you imagine waking up to the same person for 50 years??!! I think it's an absolutely amazing achievement - I just wish I could celebrate with them, but since they are in the UK a card will have to do.
Here's this months sketch:
I've made a shaped card with a Martha Stewart punch - Beate Johns has done a great tutorial here which shows how to do this. The MME brads and the pin were silver but I've coloured them with a gold leafing pen. After numerous attempts I managed to tie a bow in the velvet ribbon - but not before the air turned blue!
Happy scrapping everyone and thanks for stopping by,

PDC and Sketchabilities
Hi Scrappers,
I combined a couple of challenges today, using this weeks card sketch at Cardabilities and the colours at Play Date Cafe.
I've used one of those Kaleidoscope ink pads to ink the Twiddlybitz but you can't really tell from the pics that there are different shades of blue. The lace stamping is from a set by MME and the paper is Studio Calico.

Scrap the Boys Challenge
>Hi Scrappers,
It seems months since I did a Scrap the Boys challenge so I was determined to do this months - particularly as I loved the sketch they've used from Pagemaps:
I've used some weird kind of paper stuff I've had for years which is perfect for earthy layouts - no idea what it's called. I've also used some mulberry paper which I've coloured with some Glimmer Mist. The woodgrain paper is Studio Calico - just loving their stuff at the moment.
Hope you have a scrappy weekend!

Scrapville Cards to Share
Hi Scrappers,
I'm really enjoying playing around with my Scrapville monthly pack. Heaps of pink to keep me happy -
Check out that gorgeous lace - so not me to have anything vaguely feminine on my cards but that's what I like about these packs: they take you out of your comfort zone and make you use stuff you wouldn't normally buy!

Playing with Pastels
Hi Scrappers,
Just a quick post today to show you this weeks Play Date Cafe challenge. And what a challenge it was! The colours this week are pastels - so not my style. I've had a box of Stamping Up pastel inks in my stash for ages but I rarely use them. That's why I love this challenge site - it makes me use stuff that would otherwise just sit there for years to come. Here's the inspiration -
And here's my card -
Whenever I do these challenges I always try and get the colours to match as closely as I can but as soon as I put them on my blog they look nothing like the core colours. Oops - colourblind scrapper...not a good combination! think I need a bit of practice with the Copics - unfortunately she looks like she has a blotchy skin condition...
Anyway, thanks for stopping by,
Happy scrapping,
Claire xx

New Scrapville Monthly Pack
Hi Scrappers,
William started Kindy today and didn't give me so much as a backward glance when he trotted off to his classroom with his buddy. Not sure whether I should be pleased or not with that! He looked so grown up in his school uniform and I'm sure there will be many scrappy pages to come to mark the occasion.
So for the first time in six weeks my house is completely silent - I'm really not quite sure what to do with myself at all. A facial, manicure, massage - fat chance! My house hasn't been cleaned properly in six weeks so no time to be a lady who lunches unfortunately!
It looks like there hasn't been much scrapping done lately on this blog, but I've been playing with the brand new monthly pack from Scrapville. It's full of Basic Grey's new paper collection Kissing Booth - lots of hot pinks, reds and on the reverse side some boyish greens and browns. Since Valentines Day is just around the corner I thought I may as well do a layout on my bloke for a change -
I barely made a dent in that pack so there will be lots more to show you in the next few days....
