MFT Colour Challenge #228

Hello folks,

I've had a little break from inking in the last couple of weeks having been to beautiful Noosa for a holiday.  Beautiful beaches, balmy weather, great food and lots of interesting things to do - what more could you ask for from a holiday? Back to earth with a bump as the kids are back to school tomorrow after a 7 week summer break.

I'm managing to get this one in by the skin of my teeth to MFT's colour challenge:

MFT's Viking has had quite an inking in the last few weeks, this time for my friend's 18 year old son - we met in Mother's Group a couple of weeks after our first son's were born.  In Oz, when you have your first child you're automatically put in a group of mum's who've given birth around a similar time and it really is pot luck who you're put with. I struck it so lucky with my group and met a couple of fellow mum's who will be friend's for life.

The patterned papers are from a couple of different paper pads - Feelin' Festive and Colorful Canvas.

Happy stamping!

Freshly Made Sketch - Two Versions

Hello again,

Cécile has created a very CAS Freshly Made Sketch this week and I made 2 versions of the same card. The second one on the post is the first version - I used some watercolour die cuts from Paper Smooches for the background and coloured the feather die with Antique Linen, Evergreen Bough and Black Soot distress inks (a Kristina Werner combo I think). I liked how it turned out but thought I'd have another go using Lost Shadow, Spun Sugar and Evergreen Bough:

In the second one I gave the die cuts more dimension by glueing three die cuts together. I also added a touch of sparkle with a Versamark pen and holographic embossing powder.  I prefer the colours in the original card but the more dimensional look of the second!

I'm popping the first attempt over to Freshly Made Sketches and the second attempt over to Just Us Girls' word week challenge which is 'sparkle.'

Let me know which one you prefer!

Happy stamping!

January - Altenew Inspiration Challenge

Hello bloggers!

First card for 2024 playing with the colours from this month's Altenew challenge - Agnieszka's pic is from the Welsh coast where I spent many a happy family holiday when I was a kid:

I used Blissful Blossoms with a sentiment from an older set since I needed a wedding card, Ori Kami. The background was stamped using Halftone Squares in grey distress ink.

Since getting married is an exciting start to a new phase in life I think this one also fit's Time Out's challenge with the theme of 'new'.

Happy stamping!
