Freshly Made Sketch #450

Hello folks,

It's been a while since I inked up Nursery Deco by Mama Elephant. You get to a certain age and baby cards just aren't required any more!

I've used the pretty colour palette over at The Colour Throwdown and combined it with Karren's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. The white embossed woodgrain background was stamped with MFT's Wood Plank.

Happy stamping!

Frankly....

Hello again,

LeAnne has created a great sketch over at The Paper Players for using up all those bits of scrap paper that sit gathering dust in your stash:

I slightly adjusted the rectangular panel and moved it further up the card so you can see where the papers have crossed underneath.  The stamped sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays' Frankly.

Happy stamping!

MFT Sketch #503

 Hi folks,

Quick post for the MFT Sketch challenge #503 using Bring Out the Sunshine:

I really struggled with those two circles at the top and ended up stamping a couple of sweet birds from a long retired set - Lovable Leopards.  The background is Wood Plank, stamped in Memento Ink with some Antique Linen and Walnut Distress Inks sponged over the top.  For the cloudy sky I white embossed Happy Birthday Background and sponged over the top with Cloud Stencil and Grassy Edges Stencil.

Enjoy your night!

Ahoy FMS!

Hello, happy weekend!

Cecile  had me completely flummoxed with her sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches - it took me forever to come up with something:

I gave up with triangles so switched it to circles instead but really struggled to get any kind of balance with their placement. It wasn't until the addition of the red enamel dots that I kind of got it to work!

I've used Ocean Bound from Waltzingmouse, an oldie but a goodie, especially for the men in our lives!

Thanks for popping by,

Last Ever Paper Smooches Challenge

Hello again,

I can't let the final Paper Smooches Challenge pass by without making a card for it.  I used the crazy looking rabbit from A Little Lovin:'

I'm not good when it comes to masking. I can never work out what needs to be stamped first and always seem to stuff it up, especially if I've had a glass of wine! I kept it very simple, colouring them with Copics and adding some Glossy Accents to the eyes.

I'm also popping it over to Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday challenge with it's 'oh so cute' theme.

Happy stamping!

Freshly Made Sketch Meets Time Out

Hello folks,

I just had time to make quite a clean and simple card using this week's Freshly Made Sketch and taking some inspiration from Time Out's photo challenge:

I struggled initially with the diagonal line on the card sketch but then remembered my favourite Cheery Lynn die cut. I added a couple of blooms from Ink to Paper with a sentiment from Clearly Besotted. The background lines have been white embossed with Mama Elephant's Basic Borders.

No guessing required as to where I drew my inspiration from - the colours from the surfboard and the stripes from the flip flops (or thongs as we say in Australia.)  The starfish immediately made me think of  Grout Gray card stock.

Hope you have the chance to ink up some of those stamps this week!

Thanks for popping by,

MFT Summer School - Final Challenge: White Space

Hello fellow inkers!

I made my final card to graduate from MFT's Summer school, the last challenge being 'white space:'

I bought the gorgeous Hanging with my Gnomies set a couple of weeks ago - I had to really restrain myself as all I wanted to do was colour but since the challenge was white space I thought I'd better limit it to one gnome! I've partially stencilled Radiating Rays Stencil behind the image and framed it with the smallest Stitched Rectangle Frame Die-namics.

MFT Summer School - Card 4: Ombre

 Hello, happy weekend!

I've had  Circle Celebration background stamp on my wish list for quite a while and thought it would work perfectly for MFT Summer School's day 4 ombre challenge:

I've blended a very bright background with a variety of pink hued distress inks over the white embossed background stamp. I've then cut the Celebrate  die twice and matted it on black card stock to ensure it pops against the busy background. I'm tempted to smother it in a layer of glitter to make it stand out even more...doesn't everything look better with a bit of sparkle after all?

Happy stamping!

MFT Summer School - Challenge 3: Symmetry

Hello, hello,

I feel like I'm on a bit of a roll with these MFT Summer School challenges but I have to admit I struggled with their third challenge which is to make a symmetrical card. In the end I opted for one of the cute little spacemen from Space Explorer, set against a stencilled background using Radiating Rays:

MFT Summer School: Lesson 2 - Rainbow

Hello again,

Here's another card for Day 2 of MFT's Summer School series - the challenge is to create a card using a rainbow:

Summer School luckily coincided with me receiving some new MFT goodies yesterday - one of the sets I bought is All the Cupcakes. Perfect for colouring in rainbow colours!

I'm also popping this over to AAA Cards who have an 'Along the Edge' challenge this week.

Hope your day is sprinkled in happiness!

MFT Summer School - Visual Triangle

Hi folks,

It's MFT's Summer School this week and the first lesson is all about using a 'visual triangle' in card design.

I created a visual triangle using Fluttering Friends. coloured with the pretty hues from the latest Colour Challenge. For the background I used Cloud Stencil and a variety of dies from Blueprints 24 Dienamics.

Thanks for stopping by!

MFT Sketch #500!

Hello, hope you're having a great weekend!

Can you believe it's MFT's 500th sketch challenge?  I inked up this sweet little fairy from Flower Fairies:

I white embossed some cardstock with Happy Birthday background and blended a layer of colour with some distress inks, die cut a heart and set it all against a Grout Gray background,  stamped with Wood Plank.  A touch of holographic glitter added some sparkle to her wings.

Happy stamping!
