Your Next Stamp - Anything Goes!

Hello folks!

Here's a card for Your Next Stamp's Anything Goes Challenge:

I've used Honey Bee and the small Instalove Polaroid Die.

Have a very inky Christmas!

Hamming it Up for MFT

Hello, hello,

Only 6 days to go until Santa comes ho, ho, ho-ing down the chimney! Not much time to get inky but new stamps do give you a kick into action don't they? Here's one for the latest MFT colour challenge:

My neutrals are the flesh coloured pinks I used for the little pigs and the brown fence, but otherwise I stuck to the colours.  I used BB Hog Heaven and the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges.

I'm also chucking it over to Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge where the theme is 'Stitch It.'

Thanks for looking!

It's Cold up North

Hello folks,

Just a quick, CAS card for AAA Cards and CASology:

AAA's challenge is to create a mostly white card so I created a little snow scene using these sweet wooden houses from my local craft store. It's so hard to photograph white cards - I really haven't captured how bright and sparkly it actually is!

And what could be more Northern then a snow scene to fit CASology's challenge? Oh how I long to be North this Christmas instead of baking in the 35C heat of Sydney!

Happy stamping!

Freshly Made Sketches Take 2

Hello again,

As promised, here's a second take om the latest Freshly Made Sketch, using the colours from MFT's colour challenge:

I had an A5 card already prepared with MFT's Wood Plank and managed to cut a couple of Mod Rectangles out of it. The colours scream Christmas don't they, but I thought they'd be perfect for Birdie Brown's sweet Viking stamp.

I'm also popping this one over to Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday challenge where 'anything goes.'

Happy stamping!

Christmas Colour for The Card Concept

Hello folks,

I always seem to get the bulk of my Christmas cards done early but there's always those last 3 or 4 that I struggle with. By this time of year, I'm well and truly over making Christmas cards.

It helps when you have new stamps to play with though - MFT's recent 35% off sale prompted me to use a recently won gift voucher, so I bought Pure Innocence Holiday Cheer:

The sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches was perfect for this stamp and I used the colours from The Card Concept's latest inspiration pic for this clean and layered card.

In fact, I liked the card sketch so much, I ended up making another one so scroll up if you want to take a peek!

Thanks for stopping by,

CFC#213 - Shades of Gold

Hello fellow inkers!

I've made a clean and simple card for the latest CAS-ual Fridays Challenge -

As you can see it's a colour challenge using shades of gold.  I've procrastinated for so long about buying the stamp set 'Truth Is' but when I saw it was retiring it was the perfect excuse to go shopping.

I coloured the blooms with Perfect Pearls and added a gold embossed sentiment strip to the side, as well as some dry embossing to add a little detail to all that white space.

Thanks for popping by!

Holiday Cheers!

Happy weekend to you. And for those in the US Happy Thanksgiving!

Here's a quick card for Your Next Stamp's Friday challenge which is a sketch challenge:

Patterned papers are such a great way to make a quick card - I've used YNS' Winter Plaid  and the stamp is Reinbeer. A flip of the sketch and a scattering of enamel dots and it was done!

Happy stamping!

Inspiration Galore!

Hello fellow inkers!

So many challenges, too little time.  But I did manage to whip up these two cards over the weekend:

The first is for Freshly Made Sketches using Your Next Stamp's Honey Bee.

For the second, I took inspiration from both pics over at Time Out and The Card Concept.  I've used most of the colours  - gold, green, black and red. Not sure what I'd class this style - clean and simple perhaps? You be the judge....

Metallic Christmas

Hello again,

I had so many ideas for Less Is More's metallic colour challenge but opted for the simplest ever Christmas card:

I've had this wooden Christmas tree stamp for years and I've never used it - it's so pretty that it doesn't need anything other than some metallic embossing powder and navy card stock. Yes navy. If anyone has any hints on how to photograph navy without it looking like I've used black card stock, please let me know!

Happy stamping!

Clean and Simple CASology and FMS

Hello folks!

It's been a busy week but I've managed to sneak in a couple of clean and simple cards. The first is for CASology, where the cue card is 'compliment:'

I stencilled a distress ink background and added this sweet little puffer fish from Your Next Stamp.

The second card is for Freshly Made Sketches. I layered a heap of sparkly die cut snowflakes from CAS-ual Fridays and framed them with a polaroid die from Your Next Stamp.  Like I said, quick, clean and simple!

Thanks for  popping by!

Clean and Layered Funky Flowers

Hello again,

It's a rare day when I get to combine four challenges, but Autumn's brought a whole heap of pumpkin inspired pics to blogland which have helped me make this little card:

\

I've taken the colours from both the Fusion pic and The Card Concept and based it on Jen's sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. I've also been inspired by the quote at Time Out - flowers would make me happy,  or at least they would if anyone bothered to buy me any....

For this clean and layered creation I dusted off my WMS Funky Flowers - I rarely seem to use my solid stamps now and seem to reach for the outline stamps so I can colour.  I've white embossed the background with a W Plus 9 background type and the woodgrain is MFT.

Hope you have the time to get inky this week!

Making A Scene

Hello again,

The challenge at Your Next Stamp this week is to make a scene:

I used these sweet little folks from Waddles Winter Happiness and added a sprinkling of snow using Snowfall.

Happy stamping!

MFT# 408

Hello bloggers!

I coloured this little Space Explorer a couple of weeks ago for the MFT colour challenge but didn't have time to make a card. So I'm using him in the current sketch challenge instead:

CFC#210 - Pink and Grey

Hello,

CAS-ual Friday's have a colour challenge featuring pinks and greys this week. I hadn't realised it finished in an hour,  so I had to whip this one up really fast:

Luckily I'd coloured the sweet little girl from MFT's Warmest Wishes at the weekend. I set it against a die cut frame from PTI, added a few sparkly snowdrops and snowdrifts and it was done in about 20 minutes! Another Christmas card down...ten to go...

FMS #359

Hello bloggers!

Here's a simple Christmas card I made using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I inked the Poinsettia layers to give some definition and added a couple of leaves from PTI's Doodlie - Do. Yes I know, they're not really like Poinsettia leaves but they fitted the gold embossed circle so much better!

Happy stamping!

CAS-ology - Punctuation

Hello folks,

Not much time to get inky this week as the kidlets have been on school holidays - I did manage one card though for CAS-ology. The cue word is 'punctuation:'

I used CAS-ual Friday's now retired WTF for this one - I created a rainbow pattern using the question mark stamp and then added a couple of sentiments from the same set. Very easy!

Thanks for stopping by,

Two-fer Christmas

Hello,

Just sneaking in with a couple of cards - one for MFT's Colour Challenge, combined with freshly Made Sketches and the other for CAS-ual Friday's Sketch Challenge:

I used Warmest Wishes for the first, together with Wood Plank background. Not the best photo but I might try and get a better one in the daylight tomorrow. For the CAS-ual Friday's card I die cut some Funky Snowflakes  and used a sentiment from Snowy Sayings.

Happy stamping!
